Re: Sub Phatty - My user experience

It's awesome reading what people like best about a particular synth, you get this all over the Internet, but at moog you'd expect everyone to stick to the party line, but the truth is we all have our preferences. I love that. I'm sure if we were all in the same room together we'd be able to demonstr...

Re: sub37 version 1.1 release date?

I'd like for the official release to at least occur in the calendar month following the month in which I said it'd be ready. :) Ah hahaha this is the kind of whimsical use of English that makes me love you so Amos, I'm quite sure you wrote some of the Sub 37 manual with a fastidiousness and whimsy ...

Re: Sub37 gig bag vs case?

Same as the LP bag, the straps shouldn't go near the side panels, they cross over the synth like a big x. If the side panels are that delicate I wouldn't use any case or move it around at all. The straps have never damaged my LP but is a stage, so it's surfaces are pretty sturdy. Perhaps you could s...

Re: Little Phatty Custom Wood Side Panels

It's not cabinetry. They have a perfect template to work from, I could probably give it to a local guy and he'd make the cuts for $50. I'd do the staining myself. But I don't really know anyone who I could ask these days. It can just be solid pine with a wood stain of your choice.

Re: Little Phatty Custom Wood Side Panels

I wish someone in Australia did this, I'd love to get my poly 61 and little phatty set up with some nice wood ends. But I'm not paying international shipping on something so heavy.

Is the red fairly rare? I know the red back was made for Australia, which is a pretty select market but maybe they're available elsewhere too?

Re: Sub 37 vs Little Phatty: Sonics

I must point out that I still love the sound of my sub 37 But in trying to emulate the Duo Organ sound to learn how it was built, I've had great difficulty. I'm really itching for the editor to come out so I can see all the parameters for the Duo Organ preset, they're using noise in there but I don'...

Re: Least Obese Moog Synth

So pairing the sub 37 (sub phatty and I think. The Minotaur engine) with the little phatty stage 2 (slim phatty engine) The newer sub phatty/Minotaur engine is much slimmer, I didn't get any phat sounds out of the Minotaur. Not compared to my phatty which has the detuned breadth, the bass end which ...

Re: Tell us about your rig

This is the thread I've been looking for! This is the first time in years I've been happy, having a non-working studio has been endless frustrations! It just gets me down that I can't just play! Well now I can! http://volupt.nu/images/my-studio.jpg Three tier keyboard stand, a whole bunch of cables ...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

I've been doing a lot of "chores" lately. I bought a s**tload of midi cables, guitar leads, and 3.5m leads for new studio setup. Also waiting for a midi quadra thru to arrive. And a daisy chain made specifically for the volcas. Basically the second three-tier keyboard stand I got last mont...

Re: Moog should make a portable synth with a larger keyboard

I do think that if the only issue is the number of keys then it's worth getting a decent midi keyboard of 61 keys or more. I'm sure now the slim phatty has been wound down, a slim 37 is not too far away, meaning you can pick whatever keyboard your heart desires.

Re: Sub 37 to send midi clock to all my other gear

Perhaps try cv gate out to volcas instead? But I suspect the sub 37 will only send clock when it's using it, maybe it's a menu setting? I've definitely read something about this myself.

Re: Sub 37 to send midi clock to all my other gear

I also just want to send clock from my sub 37 to tempo sync volca beats to the 37. That's all. It works when ARP is on. But not when ARP is off. I am an old school dude. Do I need to explore the 37s midi parameters or the volca. I can sync the Delay Timeof my tc electronic m350 to the ARP SPEED wit...

Re: Which phatty's can poly chain with which?

Oh absolutely, it's definitely not an easy thing, just trying yo get the sub 37 and LP in tune acress the keyboard is hard because the sub 37 is so much more stable. But the combination of the voices together could create something really special, maybe I'll midi them up and see what nice combos I c...
