Hello Maskin, What about the headroom of your Maxon AD 999 ? Is it as "noise free" as our beloved MF-104 is ? And what about the input level ? Can you feed it with any sound source ? Thomas It hasn't much headroom unfortunately. The AD produces a lot less noise than the MF, even with the ...

If I was looking for an analogue delay, it would probably go like this... Carbon Copy Boss RE20 Spae Echo Moog Delay Moog 104sd Roland re201 (clone myself and kick him to activate the delay) I bought a Maxon AD999 this week to double the delay power in my rig (I already have the MF-104Z but it's to...

Interesting part about the high fidelity noise, Eric. I guess anyone can make noise with a modular but turning that noise into something created directly from the heart is what music is all about.

I feel the same way!
Try to get hold on some albums from Cluster and Harmonia, they really opened my ears with their albums. It totally changed the way I experience and produce music and I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this way.

The high-end tube reverb from Europe is probably a Vermona ReTubeVerb or a Retroverb, I would love to have one of those.

I have all my effects patched through my mixer, each with dedicated channels so I can re-route everything to everything and create feedback loops. Maybe not as easy to use than a simple footswitch but it works great for me.

Not sure if this is mentioned before (I suppose it has) but I would be happy with voice expanders in 1U rack format instead of a new version of the Little Phatty. I own 2 LPs but there's no way I would buy 6 more to have 8 voice polyphony. I probably would buy 6 voice expanders.

No problem. :)
I should mention that Soundtracs mixers have an external PSU, not something that would affect the sound but it does take some extra space.

To be honest I've never heard any noise through the channels. I'm not sure we've ever re-routed signals but when cranking up the gain to boost my laptop's signal there's still no noise to be heard. The path is standard like any other analog board, not sure what you want to know here. It has 100 mm f...

I've been waiting for this thing to come out for years now, I bought a Vermona drumsynth instead because I couldn't wait any longer.

Soundtracs are proper mixers, long faders, great sound and feel, and not too expensive. I work with one on a regular basis at my friends place. I use an Allen & Heath ZED-436 myself. Apart from the so called audio interface (which I never use) it's a really nice board, one of the few boards out ...

My mixdown is all analog but the final recording is done on my iMac on just 44.1 kHz /16 bit. Most of my music is released on the web or on CD so this resolution is good enough for me. If I sample sounds I usually record on 96 kHz /32 bit. I'm looking for a proper Revox or Ampex for some time now bu...
