Re: for the holidays

I really enjoy your music. Well done and keep up the great work! Ambient/experimental stuff that's outside of the usual stuff is just the kind of electronic music I like.

FS: Moog Little Phatty Red Limited Edition For Sale

If anyone is interested, I have the rare limited edition red LP for sale on Ebay. It is in absolutely perfect condition, I am the original owner, and it has seen very little use since I bought it 10 months ago. I am letting it go for $999, or best offer, with free shipping to the continental U.S. ht...

Advice for owners of Lunar Impact Whitewash Voyagers

If you plan to use a dust cover to protect it, do not use a black one. For a while I was using the type you can buy at GC that comes in various sizes and since iodine is commonly used to make/preserve black pigments on fabric, the iodine will rub off and leave some purple color on the corners of you...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

@Slothbuckler nice LP. That green looks awesome! @EMWhite and all PC-to-Mac converts Yeah I left PCs a while ago too. Two of my 3 Macs have been very reliable... My black MacBook experiences what has been dubbed online as "Random Shutdown Syndrome" (RSS) - which is not battery related - an...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

Thanks for the props, Fyvewytches. :D I almost made a move to sell it and buy one of the imminently discontinued select series units (whitewash with purple lights), but my wife talked me out of it. In fact, she's the one who got me the Waldorf Microwave XT! I'm lucky to have a wife who thinks all of...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

Well done EMWhite! Very creative implementation of the midipal! I use it in dispatch mode... a flippin blessing if you ask me. <why wouldn't Moog implement a basic bit of gear like this in a synth to make a poly setup? eh, whatever...> Yeah, the Midipal is simply amazing. Not at all because it is so...

Re: Switching on the "Batcall" for Mr. Lightner

Kevin, I hope my comment didn't come across the wrong way. What I meant by "needing some courage" is that I, personally, am quite afraid of electrocuting myself working on something running off mains power. I thought I would clarify just in case you thought, "hey, is this guy being a ...

Call Novamusik and talk to them directly. Those are the guys you need to talk to for the whitewash stuff.

Re: Switching on the "Batcall" for Mr. Lightner

You're welcome, Kevin. It's a shame you wouldn't be able to work on the LP... I'm sure that with the schematics and such, you would take Dr. Moog's designs to a whole new level! In fact, have you ever thought of working for Moog? I'm sure that with your skills, you could persuade them to be their ne...

Switching on the "Batcall" for Mr. Lightner

Dear Kevin, Rather than ask this question by PM - as it may be of interest to other Moogheads on this forum - I will take the liberty to ask you this here. I recently read a post on this section of the forum where Alien added a mod to his Minimoog D based on your design and it got me thinking. Since...

Re: Moog Music's exaggeration...

You can't trademark something like simply adding an LCD or backlighting, you're right about that. However, although you can't trademark something like that, backlighting can become part of the brand's identity. For instance, although one cannot trademark a stone modwheel or a wooden pitch bender, on...

Re: Moog Music's exaggeration...

You might be right, Alien, about the polyphonic synth thing. I hope not, but you might be right. Thinking about what you said, sure, the SS is a few hundred more than a performer. But the latter already costs 3 Gs and the lights are an added bonus for customization and relative to Moog's competition...

Re: Moog Music's exaggeration...

I think discontinuing the voyager ss is a bold move. In the end, I hope the replacement will be worthy of the demise of the ss. Moog should beware of competitors ready to flank them with backlit analog synths of their own now that our favorite nc-based synth builders may be leaving the backlit synth...

Re: Big announcement?

The Lunar Impact at Novamusik has also been discontinued. It is no longer available on their website. Looking back on it, I always wanted to have two: the Lunar Impact, and a Whitewash Jade Indigo or Blue. Oh well, unless circumstances change suddenly and unexpectedly, my Voyager LI will not have a ...
