CV inputs are optional on the Triwave Picogenerator - I'll be able to give you a report at some point because I ordered one! It's exactly the pedal I've been looking for since Schumann Electronics seems to have stopped making the PLL and PLL Drone . Actually, I think the Picogenerator is closer to w...

I used an Alembic F-2B bass preamp with my Rogue, and I liked the results. I wouldn't think that a preamp would be essential to a Moog synth, but depending on what you're looking for it could be useful, whether for the EQ possibilities of for that good ol' "tube warmth" on top of the "...

I always list this one but the keyboard solo by Don Preston on "Lonesome Electric Turkey" from Frank Zappa's Fillmore East, June 1971 is great.

Are you sure you're using the right power supply? I accidentally used a 12-volt adapter with my MF-101 once and it wouldn't work properly...

I really liked it. Nice use of space. You guys aren't afraid to play slow, huh? I thought the sounds were really creative. I thought your use of the MURF was actually rather subtle.

Here's a short clip showing one of the possible applications of sample and hold - it's similar to the sound that Frank Zappa used on "Ship Ahoy" from Shut Up 'n' Play Yer Guitar , Lather , etc. The first sound in the clip below is clean bass, then bass through the MF-101 low pass filter, t...

I don't really know what I'm talking about in this case - let's wait for Bryan T's samples.

how is the input sensitivity on the frostwave? I used to have a sherman filterbank 2 but sold it because the input had to be driven pretty hard to get a signal. This is one thing I love about the Moogerfoogers, they are real sensitive. I haven't had any problems with the frostwave. I play ba...

Personally, I'm skeptical that you'll be able to get that sound with a guitar and MF-101. I think that the attack and decay of the synth sound in the clip is part of the overall sound, not just the filter. I could be wrong though - can't you order it from some place where you can return it if you do...

Glad we figured it out! I have an old Gibson bass with flatwounds and the big ol' humbucker that puts out NO highs whatsoever, and when I tried it clean through the MF-101, adjusting the frequency had no effect because the bass wasn't putting out frequencies that it could affect! So I thought maybe ...

That sounds strange to me - you should be able to get a normal envelope follower sound out of it. Have you tried EQing the bass signal going into the pedal? Maybe you need to boost the highs and mids? Also, where do you have the mix control set?

I use an Alembic F2-B bass preamp. I'm mainly a bassist, but I've used it to record my Rogue as well. My favorite thing about it is that it has two channels, so I can record separate tracks and EQ and process them differently.

I have to make a comment from a slightly different perspective: to me, the sound in the video you have linked here and that you linked a while ago in a different thread sounds like a pre-packaged digital synth sound. A pile of analog synth gear might get you close to the sound, but it seems like try...
