Re: Discontinuation of the Moog Little Phatty

I'd like to see both a rack/desktop version of the sub phatty, as well as a larger version with 37 keys. Here's to hoping WNAMM 2014... :)

Re: New product to replace LP?

Centaur is a fitting name for a product in the Taurus range. :)

What about a new Voyager OS?

The release of the Sub Phatty got me thinking, and I just can't stop thinking about it. Is there room for a new Voyager Old School, with the same type of OSC's, Mixer and Multidrive from the Sub Phatty incorporated? That together with the addition of MIDI/USB like the Sub Phatty has, but no presets ...

Re: prototype

Here are some of my thoughts re the Sub Phatty Imho, the Sub Phatty is not aimed at someone already owning a Moog synthesizer, at least not first hand. If you look at the bigger picture, Moog is aiming at a wider market. I think the Sub Phatty is fantastic as it's the cheapest Moog with a keyboard (...

Re: prototype

So it appears the 'Sub' in the name is actually meant to stand for the fact that the synthesizer using subtractive synthesis. Confusing, however, considering all Moog hardware synthesizers use subtractive synthesis. I wonder if this is indicative that a future hardware synth release may (somehow) u...

Re: prototype

Although I'm not sure about the European market ? Some of them are still awaiting delivery of their long ordered Minibrute... I'm not convinced they'd be willing to part with it that quickly ? Moreover, a well known frenchman in the world of modulars (Yves Usson) designed the synth, so there might ...

Re: prototype

There's one thing that is different and that is two knobs in the top are which in this image are called shape dest and waveform. On the Herb video those are switches and not knobs. Also if you consider the layout of i.e. the Voyager Rack, the oscillators are actually aligned vertically and not horiz...

Octave Range on the Minitaur?

I'm wondering about this bit. The Taurus III went from middle C and 5 octaves down (but not above middle C) afaik. Will this be the case with the Minitaur as well?

Re: Interest in CV outputs from Little Phatty? Contact Moog

This mod is way too expensive for us living in Europe at the moment. There isn't anyone in Europe that do this mod afaik so it means that we'd have to ship the phatty over to the states and get the job done there and then ship it back and I can tell you right away that it wouldn't be cheap. Shipping...

Filter pole settings on Stage II

Hi!

Quick question as I couldn't really find an answer for this:
On the LP Tribute and Stage Edition the filter pole settings were global and not saved with each patch, correct? Is this still true for the Stage II Edition or have it been updated to save filter pole settings per patch?

Cheers!

Sir Nose wrote:As far as I can tell, tuning gets sharper and sharper as the LP warms up. Once, fully warm the tuning is stable. Not using auto tune does not produce a drift. The OSCs are stable. All you get is an out of tune instrument.
Ok, thanks for clearing that up!

Re: auto-tune: do i get nice analog drifts if i turn it off?

I'd like to know, like the OP (I'm asking again because I don't see a 'direct' answer). Is the LP usable with auto-tune turned off? And how much effect does it have on sound. So: A) No! It drifts way too much to be usable B) YES! disabling auto-tune helps me get subtle drifting when I need it. It so...
