Re: Testing 904a...

The August 1969 built 904A is a revision "A", and it differs in the way the regeneration circuit is implemented from the old original. The original drawing shows a standard 25K pot for regeneration. Where the revision "A" and later used a reverse audio 50K regeneration pot and r...

Re: 902A Bandpass Filter Adapter (Ebay)

I see it ended early, and not too high a price. Someone got ahold of the seller to prevent a bidding war. Wonder if we'll know where it goes eventually.

Re: Poll: What do you use your Moog gear for?

I was not clear if Music being 100% of my income. OR if Moog gear makes 100% of my income. So I chose #2, which means I use my Moog gear and lots of others for making music, 100 per cent of the time? (I did not see the option to click more than one, and it does not allow you to go back and revote). ...

Re: 902A Bandpass Filter Adapter (Ebay)

They're listed as pre-production prototypes circa 1965. Pretty rare, and interesting to see, indeed. Thanks for the link. :D I see people in guitar and other vintage worlds naming things "prototype" and pre-production, without knowing what they're talking about. My friend was researching ...

Re: COMING NAMM 2014

If you'll remember, the Polymoog was considered "polyphonic". Now the term paraphonic (probably invented for the Roland 505) has been applied. There were two non-mass-produced synths in the 1960s that had polyphony into a single filter, which were also considered polyphonic. It' hard to pl...

Re: Moog Model 15

Just always beware "asking" or ebay prices. The reality is always different (and often MUCH MUCH lower) if you're trying to sell something, it seems. Or you can wait a year and sometimes get the price you're hoping for. There is indeed good and solid value in old Moog systems, but everyone...

Re: Moog Model 15

I have not seen anything sell in that range. Very hard to value. Oddly enough, the modules OUTSIDE the box would be worth more. It's like studio consoles (vintage) that are worth more "parted out" than together. The System 15 is indeed very powerful in a small package, but very expensive. ...

Re: Moog Fest 2014 - Unreleased Synthesizer Available

Yes, just adding up the hotel and travel costs, this could be an expensive trip for most. Food OUT every day at an eatery can be pricey. But it's a great town for food and drink!! and music!

Re: Obituary

Maybe Roger Luther of moogarchives.com can provide something to the Zumcheck/Waytena story... I know where he lives. I've already been there, Yes, there is always more, I just don't know why anyone would not want to know more... and I'm always digging deeper to find out what we don't know. When i d...

Re: Anyone know anything recent about Mike Bucki?

No matter how bad things can turn out in someone's life, honesty should be paramount when doing business with anybody. It's a question of honor and principles, which he obviously lost somewhere along the way, if he had any to begin with... With all due respect, if one is mentally ill, depressed or ...

Re: Obituary

Is there really so much more to say about mister Waytena and Moog Music ? He had a company called muSonics, Gene Zumcheck (there's a name you haven't seen often in Moog stories), a bright engineer at RA Moog, wasn't getting along with Bob Moog and left the company and was hired by Bill at his compa...

Re: Micky Dolenz Moog

Yes, sadly, every statement made seems a fervent attempt to push UP the value (rather than determine history or accuracy) by comparing it to other things. If you re-read the thread, it's not his synthesizer, so it's probably just the excitement of realizing there is some history there - ALL old Moog...

Re: Micky Dolenz Moog

I appreciate everyone’s positive comments and helpful input. That Moog catalog (from the Moog factory but used by a Toronto distributor? It’s unclear) is file-name-dated 1976 (if that’s accurate), so if Moog wasn’t making modulars in 1976 those prices were could have been marked up due to scarcity ...

Re: Micky Dolenz Moog

For the 2013, they finally played "Daily Nightly" live for the first time in their history. Great visuals - based upon photos of Dan Schwartz's Moog P system (made from some old Paul Beaver and Steve Porcaro modular systems). Mike Nesmith does some wonderful impersonations of a Moog. They ...

Re: Obituary

Yes, this just happened a few weeks ago when I was back East digging deeper into Moog history. Sad, as I'd always wanted to ask him about his side. There IS more to know than has been told, will be writing up some things for public consumption soon...
