Re: MIDI in?
thanks to arjanhoekstra's idea, I have successfully breadboarded a variable waveshape circuit! You gotta share that circuit! My latest addition was to add a fine tuning circuit copying the one on the Werkstatt Workshop. I drilled a small hole near the power input and glued a trimpot with a small sh...

Re: MIDI in?
For those who have used a MiniCV, are you able to get the lowest 2-3 notes to work OK? With my setup, checking the oscillator CV, it never gets to zero at the low end. As a result, the lowest 2-3 notes are all the same. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my voltage follower after the MiniCV (perha...

Re: Werkstatt has stopped functioning
Yep, my mistake. It's 4.99 ohms. Sounds like it's dead. If you're not comfortable with doing SMD desoldering, this is something I can fix for you if moog won't warranty it.

Re: Werkstatt has stopped functioning
A resistors value can't be measured when it's part of a circuit. R17 needs to be removed to test it. It's hard to tell in the picture but it does look a little toasty. The way to check the voltages is to stick the black probe on tp11 or 13 and use the red to test the different voltages. Positive vol...

Re: Werkstatt has stopped functioning
Are you using the power supply that came with the Werkstatt or a different one? I've killed 2 Werkstatt's and found that I was accidentally powering it with 9VDC from my benchtop power supply. The fix was replacing a burned out resistor. Check at R17 which is a 4.99k resistor. It'll look burnt if it...

Re: Any *complete" schematic?
sry for not being specific - some components (some transistors, diodes etc) are in the schematic without being identified by value or any other id . Q8-10 are just some examples. I can of course look at the pcb to identify them but it makes me wonder if the schematic is 100% complete and accurate o...

Re: VCF AUD IN?
Couple of problems with the AUD IN. The VCO cannot be silenced so it will always be running along with anything you patch in. The other is there is no way to properly mix the VCO and the external signal. The mod I added works great but does require removing a soldered jumper on the PCB and adding co...

Re: MIDI in?
I added the dual pot last night. Works great! It does sit a bit high. I mat take it back out and cut the metal standoffs to get it closer to the board. Now I have hole in the side to add a pot for something else! As for the MIDI in, if you want to usee both MIDI or an external gate you'll need to ad...

Re: Disconnecting the keyboard and the glide
To properly connect an external gate a trace needs to be cut and both ends wired to a switched jack. Heres the details . You can omit the buffer. The glide cannot be used with anything other than the Werkstatt keys. What I did was just duplicate the glide circuit and wired it in line with the vco ex...

Re: Touch points and jumpers
The JMP57 is between the VCO and VCF. This wouldn't be a good place for distortion though. It would only work for the Saw and all it will do is make a square wave out of it. The best place for that would be JMP58. There you would distort the audio after the filter but before the VCA. You should look...

Re: MIDI in?
Interesting about the MINICV. Thanks for the heads up. Learning that the glide was part of the keyboard and will not work with an external CV was a bummer. If I remember correctly, when I metered the kb output at the glide, it spanned 3v across the octave. Probably with a jack and a 4053 it could wo...
