Re: Voyager internal knob resolution?

12 bit resolution should give you 4096 steps.

The use of two CCs spaced 32 apart is how MIDI supports 14 bit resolution (except for pitch bend). Controllers 0-31 are the MSB, 32 to 63 are the LSB. So looking at controllers 19 and 51, these are in fact linked together.

Re: Setting up Phatty / VST with Ableton

You can hear how the patch sounds after load here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHrrO1tmGJc&feature=youtu.be In the first half of the video the patch is playing fine. Once a new bank is loaded everything goes strange You are loading sysex to the Phatty while it's playing a sequence! Most synth...

Re: Setting up Phatty / VST with Ableton

I use Live and a Mac but I can't help you because I just sold my Phatty today :? Anyway, the installer created a VST plugin, an AU plugin and a standalone version. The standalone is all I ever used and it worked perfectly. I just wanted to be able to back up patches and had bad experiences with Soun...

Re: Setting up Phatty / VST with Ableton

If the patch load worked, then you should see the patch displayed in the Phatty display. Plus you will be able to hear it  Does the Phatty work OK with Live other than using the editor? Does the Rekon editor work OK when used standalone outside Live? Are you using the VST or AU version of the ...

Re: "Automation" problem LP

For some reason (resolution probably), Moog chose a number of non-standard CCs for the various parameters and you may be getting bit by these. Go check the CC list in the manual and see what CCs relate to the parameters you see getting changed. That should help tracking it down. Check to see if you ...

Re: CC pairs for 14bit midi

32-63

i.e. use CC 0 with 32, 1 with 33, etc. just add 32

The low CC number is the MSB (coarse), the higher the LSB (fine).

No difference.

Crackling on an audio interface: increase the size of the audio buffers.

Re: Slim phatty-no Osc sync??? Why?

When you want the VCOs to lock when not detuned, just use hard sync that's what it was originally meant for back in the early days of modulars

Don't use the editor for automation, just send CCs direct to the Phatty.

Re: Help needed using LP with Ableton via M-Audio Uno

The USB cable only carries MIDI which is just digital control messages, not audio.

You need a USB audio interface.

Re: Help needed using LP with Ableton via M-Audio Uno

To hear the LP inside Live you also need an audio interface.

You didn't need to buy the Uno if your LP is a Stage II, a USB/MIDI interface is built in.

Re: Why aren't these features implemented?

If you look at hardwired Moogs over the years, complex modulations have never been a feature. Even the Voyager has only two mod slots (one for mod wheel, one for aftertouch). I used to own an ARP Odyssey and it's mod routings went so far beyond what the Mini offered it was ridiculous. But it didn't ...

Re: New owner - Amazed! Tips?

1) Is there any pedal that you guys would recommend for the basic LP use? 2) I have these 3 guitar pedal's (I used to play guitar in my youth), is any of them usable? Just plug them in and see what YOU think. One of the perks of using hardware 8) 3) What do you guys think that would be a good speak...

Re: Minitaur vs. Slim Phatty

Are you missing my point or is it just fanboy reactions? I think Moog was thinking about how people work with DAWs these days. The Minitaur editor is a VST so the DAW project saves your patches for you rather than memory in the synth. It does mean there are no presets in traditional MIDI applicatio...

OK, I can see what you're complaining about with the FM.

Why aren't they implemented? I'm sure for cost savings. Better to focus on the features you get vs. the ones you don't
