You are using MIDI cables? Do you have the Phatty USB connected to anything?

Buy the one you want . Buying something you don't really want because you can afford it today rather than saving for what you really want but can't afford yet is always a mistake. Buying a used synth: check everything! All buttons and knobs, display, all jacks (including MIDI and USB if present)

Unlike MIDI, CV has no fixed pitch reference.

You are not the first to post here with this issue, perhaps others who have experienced it will chime in.

You don't need the VST editor, just set the DAW track to overdub and twist the LP knobs as it plays back.

It's going to vary from one computer to another...

The Presonus probably is putting out +4db "professional" levels vs. -10db "consumer" levels. That's 14db difference right there.

Step 1: use either USB or DIN MIDI but never both ...this can really confuse any MIDI device. Step 2: does Logic include an event list ? Look at exactly what MIDI msgs your automation is generating. If Logic has no event list, get MIDI Monitor . Step 3: check p.57 of the manual, the values to tweak ...

The 12v trigger/gate will work OK. It's used an on/off switch, not a wave that might be "distorted". Have at it!

Check p.32 and 33 of the user's manual for details about the MIDI I/O options. Make sure MIDI Merge is set to NONE.

FWIW I use Ableton 9, Mac OS 10.7.5 with my Slim and I have zero issues. Make sure your Sub is always powered up and connected before you open Live.

It may be a Sub issue or you are just doing something wrong. Good luck.
