Re: 37's Audio input patching

Good news = Got a new Minibrute back today!
Bad news = It has the same issues as the one I sent back

Nevertheless I intend to work my way towards the Full Lindy by the end of the week!

Would love to hear some examples of using the Audio inputs of their synths :D

I think the SND ACME-4 is the slickest

Re: Filter Knob problem (SUB 37)

Thanks Dapifer, the address worked and I have already heard back from Amos. He has explained that the difference in feel on the Filter Cut-off knob is just down to the size of the knob itself having more leverage on the shaft compared to the others - makes perfect sense. Operationaly there are no pr...

Re: 37's Audio input patching

Start simple: Take the MASTER Out of the MiniBrute and patch it into the AUDIO IN of the Sub 37. Connect MIDI OUT of the Sub 37 to the MIDI In of the MiniBrute. Set MiniBrute Filter to initially be out of the way (like LP with Cutoff fully up). Set MiniBrute AMPLIFICATION ENVELOPE to Min, Min, Max,...

Re: Sub 37 Slowest LFO rate?

Just to check, I would alter the mod depth by adjusting the PITCH AMT knob in the MOD 1 section to set the lowest pitch correctly - and the LFO will still use the same amount of time to reach that pitch - does that sound right? Almost. The key part you're missing is that, when you bring the MOD 1 P...

They both got back to me within a day or two.
Great, thanks for that, I will give it a shot!

37's Audio input patching

Hi, Pretty new to the world of hardware synths and i'm wondering about ways of using the external audio inputs on synthesizers. I have (or will have when it returns from repair) a Minibrute and a Sub37 both of which have external audio inputs. I'm curious about doing the following and whether it is ...

Re: Sub 37 Slowest LFO rate?

If you're trying to make pitch fall, but your depth is so great that it's eventually going to take the pitch way lower than you need it, lessen the modulation depth so that it stops right at the lowest you want. Use your OSC section to get the pitch's starting point right and then reduce the modula...

Re: Filter Knob problem (SUB 37)

I find it odd that Moog isn't commenting on this considering how common it seems to be. I was sent a new pot to replace myself. They offered free repair (I'm in Canada and bought it from the States), I would just need to pay $200 or so in Shipping (which doesn't make much sense to me at this point)...

Sub 37 Slowest LFO rate?

Just wondering how to get the slowest possible LFO rate? So far my best attempt has been to Sync the LFO rate (turned all the way left) to the ARP rate, then slow the ARP rate to minimum speed and then change the ARP clock rate in the preset menu to its lowest setting 4 (Whole Notes). Is there more ...

Re: Tell us about your rig

Glad to help! I just spent my last money on some more pieces, so I will have to pass on your sweet Yamaha synthesizer. I finally found a Roland MSQ-600 (CV memory sequencer) and a Waldorf Pulse (I used to have one and stupidly traded it off for an Oberheim SEM). I need to be done buying things for ...

Re: Sound effect possible with Sub37?

Could try setting LFO1 very slow with a (-)ramp/triangle to modulate the Pitch of the OSCs whilst LFO2 could be set to a fast speed using a square/S&H to modulate AMP ENV? This is just one possible route of many to achieve a slow, high to low pitch sweep, with a fast pulsing/gated effect. Thank...

Re: Sound effect possible with Sub37?

I have no idea of the sound that you speak of, maybe you could post a clip of it? I would imagine something similar should be possible though, so long as it is a monophonic/duophonic sound. Making the pitch modulate slowly from high to low is certainly attainable as is a sequence of rapid notes/puls...
