Re: Moog Music Inc dragging their feet

I guess I cant relate when people say Moog synths are limited because I think of synths as instruments and not as machines...... I know I am in the minority though. My synths all sound incredible. I am not upset that they dont do more.

Re: Moog Music Inc dragging their feet

I own a DSI OB6 and it can stand up to any Moog, as far as quality and sound. Even my 1975 Minimoog D. But as for other models from that company, except perhaps the Prophet 6, you're right. Their new REV 2 doesn't appeal to me at all. It seems that everybody else is riding the analog polysynth trai...

Re: Moog Music Inc dragging their feet

I would like to hear peoples thoughts on this matter also. In my opinion though I cant really find any other synths besides MOOG that dont sound kind of shitty. I cant stand a single Dave Smith synth and that is really the truth as I wanted them to be another avenue to follow for quality synths. Als...

Re: minitaur editor doesnt stick

Hi Sub Guy, Did you save the preset you were working on? Velocity sensitivity in particular is stored per preset, so if the preset was not saved, neither were you changes. Screen Shot 2017-07-27 at 8.20.09 AM.png Hope this helps! It does help. I dont use presets so had not even looked into that par...

minitaur editor doesnt stick

When I use the editor to change settings on the Minitaur I lose the settings after powering down. Specifically velocity sensitivity. I am having to set it each time before playing it. Am I missing a function on the editor that makes the changes permanent?

Re: Better Drones

I think it sounds like a cool project! What are the other instruments in the band? Do you play the bass guitar? I want a Minitaur - I have a Little Phatty and used to have a Taurus 3 - sold the T3, I could use the LP but eventually would like the Minitaur. I love playing bass with the bass synth (p...

Re: MiniMoog to Minitaur CV

GATE only holds trigger information. PITCH CV holds the continuous pitc information. Both are needed for playing a synth from another because the slaved synth need to know what pitch its oscillator(s) should be set to, and when to trigger the envelope(s). I think gate and CV formats are the same be...

On a side note, what disapointed you at that time you tried the VV EP?
Ultimately it just turned out that that was not the instrument for me.

Re: Better Drones

So you started with a Vintage Vibe EP, but replaced it with a Sub37... that became friend with a Model D, two Mother 32 and now a Minitaur. As we say in French, you got bitten by the Moog fly :D Yea I totally did man. It was a strange journey. I knew I wanted to play bass on keys and was trying to ...

MiniMoog to Minitaur CV

Hey I hope this is not a question for which there is no answer but to make fun of me, but shouldn't this work for playing the Minitaur using CV from the Monimoog? Pitch CV out on the MiniMoog into the Pitch CV in of the Minitaur, shouldn't I be able to play note for note this way?

Re: Better Drones

Thanks for the replies. Not sure what direction Ill go in for modulation options. I was going to buy something for added modulation and while researching I stumbled upon a MINITAUR demo and bought that instead!!! Ill still need to get something for modulation but for now am playing around with this....

Re: Better Drones

Hey Sub Guy. I won't be of any help regarding modular but where I may help is effects. Have you condidered any? Some are really useful to obtain even more modulation or just a wider range of sounds. For modulation, the Moog MF-105 is a good example. I've barely found the place for it in my music, b...

Better Drones

I use two Mother 32's in my band to make drones. I just have both oscillators being modulated at slightly different rates,PWM and also filter cutoff modulation. I want to deepen the modulation capacities of my drones outside of the different ways to do it with my Mother 32's. I wanted the Moog voice...

Re: Behringer Model D - $400

That is what I am wondering and it put a little fear into me actually. What would that mean for Moog if it did sound the same? Can Berringer do this with all synths that Moog makes or is it more that they lost (control?) of the patent for the Model D?
