Re: Should I keep my Micromoog vintage?
This is the jack, just make a cable with a TRS 1/4 on the other end, problem solved. Its a pretty rad feature of the Micro, being able to route external signals thru it's modulation bus, and send mod bus routings to other synths. The Micro has the best S+H of any synth I've ever played. I don't know...

Re: MiniMoog Replacement Mod Wheels? Clear ones?
He didn't want to sell me the wheels on their own, only the whole LED assembly kit with circuit board, chassis, etc. He wanted around $100 I believe. I kept putting it off cause I only wanted the wheels and I didn't want to spend $100 for a bunch of stuff I wasn't gonna use. Those look pretty good t...

Re: a few newbie questions about my new old minimoog model d
The Mini wouldn't be running on 0.3/0.7v. You're not getting an accurate measurement. It sounds like you have a leaky capacitor (or more than one) somewhere in the osc control that's effecting the pitch sporadically. It's very common, and tons of people sell capacitor kits for all sorts of different...

Re: Thinking of selling my Sonic Six... talk me out of it !
I had a Sonic Six once; same story, it wasn't really the most practical synth to use for playing tonal music (mine was a little detuned also I think). But it does have a few tricks that are pretty unique (that dual LFO is awesome), and a real unusual, very raw electronic sound. I very much regret se...

MiniMoog Replacement Mod Wheels? Clear ones?
It used to be possible to get MiniMoog LED Pitch+Mod wheel replacements from Synthwood, but I guess he's not suppling them anymore. I wish I bought one while they were still available, only, I didn't really want the whole LED assembly, I just wanted the clear wheels. Call me crazy, but those clear P...

Re: Moogerfoogrs with Buchla 200e question.
Although I did so before, I wouldn't use more than +5v on any of the inputs again. I damaged my 12-stage phaser by sending it CV from an Arp Odyssey. I think Arps CV may go as high as 10 or 15v. I was modulating the phaser frequency and something in the phaser got burned. Now there's bad audible dis...

Re: What kind of Resistance Wire in the Moog Ribbon Controll
The first place I found when searching was one caller "Resistance wire.com" Pretty funny. They seem to sell at all price levels/ quantites. I don't know how the Modular Ribbon Controller operates, I've never played one. But I really like how the MicroMoog-style bibbon responds to both pres...

What kind of Resistance Wire in the Moog Ribbon Controller?
This is something I've wondered about for a very long time-- what resistive material is used in the ribbon controllers. Then I was just looking at the schematic for the 956 Ribbon Controller, and it very clearly states "Resistance Wire". This appears to be something that's still made and a...

Re: Looking for information on Moog 1P
Van, this is indeed very helpful, thanks very much! but it raises another question for me-- If the outside height is 24 & 3/8", making the inside 23 & 3/8"-- that must mean I have the size of the CP module wrong. I had read that they were 4 units (or 7") tall, but I must assum...

Looking for information on Moog 1P
Hi, I'm planning on building one or more portable cabinet reproductions for my Moog format modular, and I'm looking for all of the information I can get. I know these cabinets house 2 rack width rows (17") of 5 unit (8.75") modules, and one rack width row of 4 unit (7") "CP"...

MiniMoog D Oscillators dropping out
My Mini has had a few minor issues for awhile, but only recently, VCO 1 and 3 have been dropping out of audio range. It's intermittent, after leaving the power on for quite some time, VCO 3 usually comes back in, and VCO 1 occasionally. I can actually hear the VCOs rising in frequency as they come b...

Re: Moog 55 DIY
As someone who has been trying to reproduce vintage modulars for the past several years, I've been working on Serge and Buchla repros, I'd say that the cabinet and particularly the front panels are often the most difficult and time consuming aspects of reproduction. So, in a lot of ways, it might be...

Re: Moog Prodigy with strange mods - CV/Gate does not work
All of the 1/4" and cinch jones (two prong) jacks on the back, except the ones that overlap the Moog logo, are standard to later model Prodigys. Moogs, like early Korg and Yamaha synths, use a "switch-trigger" rather than a gate. You just have to change the gate setting on your Kenton...

Re: Question for Amos: fried phaser fixes??
Anyone? Has anyone had any experience working on a 103 Phaser. It sounds to me like the CV signal is bleeding into the audio chain (I don't know why this should be happening)-- the distortion/static I'm getting seems to be rising and falling with the LFO. I'm guessing ill need to replace a damaged o...
