Re: 2 Mothers - OSC sync?

I hope Moog can do a firm ware update that adds this function. I think to market the dual and triple rack and not to have sync is a little dishonest (albeit unintended) on their part. The only firmware in the M32 is to control the sequencer. The rest of it is pure analogue and hard-wired. So you're...

Re: Model D arrived today in the UK

If Moog were going to give a free poster to UK users, it should have been of Rick. Rick was the guy who brought the Minimoog to musicians attention in the UK in the early 1970s. Maybe a poster of Keith Emerson with their larger modular offerings would be good. The Beatles used an early Minimoog in t...

It's generally best to go direct to Moog Support if you discover an obvious fault in an instrument rather than kicking off endless speculation on this forum :D

Hope you get it fixed soon Jamtime.

Re: Moog Prodigy Advice

Could be one of many things, but start by checking the fuse and power supply. Is the 'POWER ON' LED by the pitch/mod wheels lit? If the power is ok, check the jack connections and cable between the Prodigy and whatever you're connecting it to (mixer/amp etc.). Check the obvious things like panel pot...

Re: Sub 37 cut off pot issue

It was good of Moog to acknowledge and fix the problem with the Sub 37 filter pot by substituting a back-mounted metal pot, but I does make me wonder how long the other surface-mount pots on my Sub 37 are going to last. Considering that the filter pot is probably touched and moved 1'000 times more ...

Re: The passing of Greg Lake ... :-(

Greatly saddened by this news. I only learned of Greg's death from Rick Wakeman's tweet this morning. Greg was a great guy and a huge talent.

2016 has been a horrible year - so many losses of musical legends who I thought would go on forever.

I hope 2017 will be kinder.

Interesting. I'll try that out myself.

I think your violin player has nailed it though. The two instruments compliment each other very well.

Re: Sub 37 cut off pot issue

This is worrying. The filter cutoff pot is the most used pot (in typical use) and it's failing. Moog replaced the original 37 cutoff pot with a more robust version a while ago. If you have a recent 37 it will have the more robust cutoff pot. However, the rest of the pots on the 37 panel are the same...

Re: Model D Sub 37 midi problem - Noob

Jeeze that's not good. Does it work on the default channel/omni? This is why I hate things like 'power on commands', 'hold this weird combination of keys down while you power up, etc.' - the original D had no such bullshit. Of course it didn't have MIDI either, but I can live with that. Where there ...

Re: Sub 37 vs Model D

I had been trying to sell my sub 37 ever since I got the Model D and had not really gotten any offers till recently. I found I was unable to sell it even though I do think the sound quality of the Mini Moog is better. It is the witchcraft thing that I missed about the sub 37 so I have just decided ...

Re: Sub 37 vs Model D

So the Sub 37 is NOT a model D? Well no bleep there! Of course it isn't, you numb nuts. The D is in some cases 'better', and in others cases 'worse' than the Sub-37. It all depends what you want and need from the instrument. I wish people would stop comparing them. They are totally different instrum...

That's about as concise and elegant a summation as you could wish for.
