From a technical point of view, Curtis' designs were superior to SSMs... Stable VCOs, etc.

Or you could do what I did and buy one used. And stop eating out. Ride a bike instead of driving a car. Etc. That way you can afford it in a year, guaranteed!!! ;)

Do you have any recordings using your Omega 8 that I could listen to? I don't have any full productions available that feature the Omega, but I made this little demo for your listening pleasure :) I have used the Omega extensively on my band's upcoming third album, and I will post some examples whe...

I was going to replace the filter chips in my Farfisa with SSM-2040's, but discovered someone beat me to it! Which would explain the difference in sound between the organ when it was new and the present day. The 2040, IMHO, was the last great chip to be designed by Curtis. After that, they started ...

CEM3340 is Curtis' VCO chip. Not filter. You probably meant the CEM3320.

Liberation II is the best idea I've come across this forum... ever! Ok, maybe not, but a I'd love to get my hands on a real Liberation. It just looks a lot better than most keytars. The new Roland thingy is just plain ugly. The original liberation and the old Korg RK-100 (?) are the best looki...

The new Motif XS sounds beautiful. And the build quality is superior to Roland and Korg. And the XS8 keybed is fantastic.

I made this little demo of basic Omega polysynth sounds I made. All dry, except for that very last bit.

The Voyager strikes me as more of a Halle Berry. Just my opinion. Well, if Voyager is Halle Berry, then the SE-1x is Beyoncé Knowles... A great sound and a great range, with a low-end to die for... oh forget it... But Little Phatty is Cameron Diaz. Not quite as versatile, but eas...

For now, I'm going to get my Studio Electronics SE-1 upgraded and see how that turns out. Nothing wrong with that, SE-1x is a great synth, with a juicy and sexy sound :D Let's put it this way... SE-1x is Halle Berry, Voyager is Cate Blanchett, both different, both beautiful and talented. Model D is...

If you could find an Omega 8 used it would be more than your budget but it is a very nice synth. I tested out the Prophet 08 last Saturday, and like I said before, it did sound good. One thing I noticed strange that I heard about was the "endless" pots.... they don't stop at a max point. ...

Has anyone had any experiences with the SE-1x I had one on loan for a few weeks. Great sounding monosynth. To my ears, it sounds more "exciting" and "juicy" than the Voyager, a bit more "alive". Voyager is more "precise" and "dry". The user interfac...
