What is your reading on it via a scope/multimeter? Output voltages? Noise on the scope? Can you test it a little more and see how much current you can pull from it easily?

They should make a new filter. Well, kinda new. They should (imho) make a transistor ladder filter out of tubes instead of transistors. No, not possible. Not going to happen. Physically opening it up and tuning it isn't that hard.
