You have to host it somewhere. I use imageshack - it's free!

There are some bass speaker cabinets that have tweeters for better high-frequency response, but sometimes they sound harsh or brittle, and it also depends on the amplifier. And I'd put Jack Bruce up there as one of the early rock bass frontmen, but amp/speaker technology hadn't caught up yet. I thin...

You can always bi-amp too - send the lows through a bass amp and the highs through something else. You wouldn't even need a professional crossover - just stick an EQ on the high freq. signal and cut the lows so you don't blow up your speakers.

I think I read in Analog Days that there was an electronic music composer who was perturbed by the fact that the Moog had a keyboard controller at all! He wanted to have non-traditional controllers in order to break free of the tyranny of Western music, or something like that. So be happy that you e...

You didn't read the monophonic keyboard chops thread, did you? A lot of it is tied up in the history of synthesizers. I'm sure others here will get into that. Sorry I don't have any answer of my own! I just happen to be up at 4 AM...

As much as I would love to see a new Taurus synth, I think I'm going to go the Little Phatty/MIDI bass pedals route myself... I've only heard a few recordings where I could recognize Taurus I pedals in use - near the end of the live version of Chris Squire's "The Fish" bass solo on Yes Son...

+1 on what Bryan T says - I've been wanting to try an e-bow myself! OK, I hate to promote myself (yeah right!), but I can't resist. Go to http://music.download.com/hieronymous and go down to the last track, "Taurus VI" - it's a 6-string bass instead of guitar, but it's the MF-101 in action...

update

Well, in the midst of all this new synth madness, let us hark back to a sadder time when analog was on its way out. I've pretty much finished the song - here's a rough mix: next to last - even newer mix than before (but, in hindsight, not the last one) Again, any comments on mix, etc. are much appre...

Thanks Heiro those sound really cool. I've always wondered how that overdrive feature on the rogue sounded. Actually, I don't think you're hearing the overdrive. I've never really noticed any significant difference with the overdrive - I usually run the filters just below the overdrive level. It do...
