Re: Possible to get a classic 80' (FM?) bass sound?
I was able to follow that tutorial and get a pretty mean bass sound, and then improve upon it by also freq modulating Osc 2 with the pedal bus. It's like two meaty bass sounds at once. I don't know if it was the sound you're looking for, but it was much grittier than most of the presets....

It can't be said often enough - read the manual!
I just now - today - realized that the CP-251 Sample and Hold has two different outputs. I've been running output 1 through the lag processor to get a "smoothed" sample and hold for years. I just realized that output 2 gives a "smoothed" sample and hold. Ugh!!

Re: MF-104MSD?
Does the filter on the SD default to "dark?" I was messing around with midi tonight and it seems the wet signal can get brighter but not darker from default. Anyone else notice this?

Re: MF-104MSD?
I can't confirm or deny, but I will say the gain structure on my SD is much different than my M. In fact, that's part of the reason why I thought the SD sounded bad. When I set the SD to the same game settings as the M, I had a much different sound - a bad sound. Once I realized the gain structures ...

Re: MF-104MSD?
I just got my SD yesterday. After a bit of playing around with guitar, I thought it sounded pretty distorted and messed up. I had just about convinced myself it was broken. I A/B'd it with my regular 104m, and they actually sound pretty similar, but something just sounds weird about the SD. Has anyo...

Re: Voyager XL white - backlit??
Well, backlight or no, I pulled the trigger on a White Voyager XL. It's important to buy yourself some new toys for your birthday. Keeps morale up. Besides, after missing out on a Minimoog Model D last week for what was basically a steal, this was the next best thing.

Re: Noisy mf-104m artifacts at short delay settings
For all the noise the Clusterflux made at that longest delay setting, it would take a lot of subtractive EQ to clean it up. For whatever reason, I don't like to dig that deep with EQ. Just my own personal idiosyncrasy. I do live using that sound on the MF-104, so I'll just stick with it there. Moog ...

Re: Voyager XL white - backlit??
They never took it out, they didn't put the money into setting it up in the first place … okay, that's just splitting hairs. They took it out in the sense that the Voyager had it and now the XL does not. It was an awesome feature on the Voyager. One would think they'd want the XL to be more special….
