Re: Anyone using analog sequencers?

I might get an Elektron Analog Four. It depends on how I much I like my Octatrack's sequencer (MIDI) as I dig deeper into it. The Analog Four's sequencer sounds like it has a lot in common with the Octatrack's, except the MIDI output is much more limited, and it's designed primarily for outputting ...

Re: Clusterflux Meaty Beat

Yup, MF-108 drive sounds different to my MF-102 drive. I do put my x0xbox through it for some mild overdrive acid lines. I love flanger and although I don't use chorus, I do end up using the chorus of my MF-108 from time. Best sounding flanger I have ever heard, the Cluster Flux is. The fulltone ch...

Re: Anyone using analog sequencers?

Many Many thanks for your frank thoughts on the gear in question. I felt a little peculiar bringing up the oberheim gear in a moog forum, but it's nice to know folks here are simply into making music and it 's not a democrats vs republicans turkish chicken. Damn, and like I said the oberheim sounds ...

Re: Anyone using analog sequencers?

regarding the Cirklon, that seems to be quite abit more sophisticated than the analog sequencers Ive researched. Think I would rather just stay in the daw for those tasks. Perhaps Im missing something intuitive about that device, but that was my first impression.

Re: Anyone using analog sequencers?

The other really hot sequencer is Cirklon (http://www.sequentix.com/cirklon.htm). It's has the option for extensive analog CV output but it's interface is pretty hi tech digital. Don't watch the videos becuase you will want that too. It's not cheap and is made to order in batches but the folks that...

Re: Anyone using analog sequencers?

If money is not an issue for you, definitely grab a 960. The Moon does more, meaning that you can have each row running in a diff direction/different clock (based on what I've seen) but the 960 is the classic and has so much in/out. Just team it up with a sequential switch and a clock divider and y...

Re: What is this waveform visualizer called?

Sure would be awesome if the touch pad on the moog had a waveform view. that would be sick.,..

What is this waveform visualizer called?

Hi All, I ran into this plugin (http://bram.smartelectronix.com/plugins.php?id=4). I'm wondering what the hardware/scientific name is? I did a search on amazon for "Waveform visualisation" but nothing bubbled up. I'm hoping to find something that accepts 1/4~in/out. It be great to get a vi...

Re: shocked myself pretty good fixing synth

And in all this time, I've come to realize that about 80% of the time that something goes wrong in an analog synth, it is usually due to poor mechanical/electrical contacts. Either in key contacts, or chips sockets, or switches and connectors. Do you buy alot of broken synths on ebay? That would be...

Re: shocked myself pretty good fixing synth

A little bit of both, actually. I am by no means a synth tech, but I DO know my way around a soldering station. I took AC/DC Fundamentals in high school, as well as some low-level college courses after high school. Synthesizers are fine pieces of equipment and vintage ones are particularly hard to ...
