Re: Newb question about fine tune

Here are some parameters that affect tuning: VARIANCE (global menu) FINE TUNE OSC 2 Hz OFFSET OSC 2 BEAT FREQ Sub 37 features real analog VCOs. These drift mostly due to temperature. It is good practice to turn on analog music gear a few minutes before use allowing temperature to stabilize. Direct s...

Re: Dumb question regarding 1.1.0 firmware update

I've updated my 37's firmware numerous times, all my patches have remained unchanged every time.

Stuff happens though. It is good practice to backup patches.

IMHO you should just wait for the editor and FW 1.2. They're just around the corner.

Sub37, MIDI output monophonic lowest note, synth plays last

I've been combing the manual and messing with settings trying to configure the following: Sub 37 MIDI outputs monophonic "lowest note" while internal plays "last note" for standard legato playing. Basically I'm trying to have only the lowest held note transmit MIDI out while inte...

Re: New Sub 37 Owner Few Questions?

It's a pretty deep synth. You should read the manual. Then read it again 8)

Sysex is pretty simple. The manual covers it. But like I said you may as well just wait for the official release of the Moog Editor / Librarian. Real soon.

Re: Stiff filter pot

It's normal. Most of the pots are sealed and have a buttery smooth action but the filter pot is a classic open style, selected for it's robustness. These pots make a little noise when adjusted. It tends to become less noticeable with use. I was going to say it goes away completely but I just wiggled...

Re: Sub37 - Have you had this much trouble with other synths

I had a rather minor front panel issue which moog fixed for free under warranty. Mine is one of the first 50. NBD moog took care of it promptly. It's a really deep synth. I'm happy with the design compromises which kept the frontpanel uncluttered. The 1.1 firmware added even more depth as will the u...

Re: New Sub 37 Owner Few Questions?

You can save and reload presets using sysex. A program like Sysex Librarian will help you manage this. you can download the factory presets from Moog's website. But honestly Moog is about to drop the awesome patch editor / librarian. I wouldn't even bother messing with sysex transfers at this point....

Re: Beta firmware broke my Sub 37, help please

You might try the newest version that was sent out to beta testers.

Otherwise do a standard sysex install of 1.1. Have you tried doing that yet?

Re: Beta firmware broke my Sub 37, help please

Start up in bootloader mode (fine tune at 0, filter cutoff at 0, hold pitch wheel all the way up, turn unit on). That should delete the old firmware and allow you to load another. Are you doing sysex update or using the automatic updater? Remember you can always use sysex to reload the last official...

@Subber37

Thanks! Yes I also moved mine to a standing position and find the keybed is less of an issue now. However I am still looking for a replacement/improvement.

If the speaker didn't agree to a video release of the seminar I doubt Moog will ever release it.
