Re: Bizarre Memorymoog Appregiator Behavior
Thanks!
And yeah, I wouldn't let anyone not qualified work on it. The most I've ever done is tune it (and I ended up getting it pretty well tuned), but that's about as much as I'd do.
Thanks for the replies.

Re: Bizarre Memorymoog Appregiator Behavior
Alright... I'll hope it's just a Z80, then. I know MC suggested a bad cap in the S&H circuit on a previous thread of mine, but I don't know if that would effect the appregiator. BTW - It's not effecting the LFO or the Sequencer speeds. Those adjust properly. Although, when playing a sequence, th...

Re: Bizarre Memorymoog Appregiator Behavior
If it is a Z80, how expensive/difficult would it be to find and replace it with a new one?

Bizarre Memorymoog Appregiator Behavior
When ever I set the appregiator speed to approximatly 8-9 (MM+ version), the LED stays lit, and shows the right speed, but the speed seems to vary significantly. If I hold for example, a C Major Triad, It will play C-E-G like as if the speed was set to about 4-5. The thing that varies is if the enve...

Re: Moog's Next Polysynth?
...At the end of the day, we're simply talking about being able to play chords on a synth, which 3-4 SP's will allow you to do, as well as functioning as individual monosynths when they're not in poly mode. A four voice all analog Poly-Moog for around $2400 aint bad, imo....... Only $2400 ? Are you...

Re: Moog's Next Polysynth?
Mine's actually pretty reliable too, as far as tuning goes. I actually didn't even have to use the Auto Tune too much, until I got the osc PITCH HI problem. Although a couple of the voices had very low VCA levels. And it'll be even better once I get all the small problems worked out (IE Bad LED, pet...

Re: Moog's Next Polysynth?
Well, first of all, they aren't "vintage" to me. Merriam-Webster defines vintage as "Of old, recognized, and enduring interest, importance, or quality : classic" Of course, though, I do see how this could be relative, and differ from person to person. Second of all, you can enjo...

Re: Moog's Next Polysynth?
I do tire of the Polymoog bashing. It's not like the Memorymoog was problem free when it was released, either... it was a massively hurried job. The SL-8 had DCOs. You want a DCO polysynth? Your problems are solved. Don't mock those vintage DCO synths. I got an Alpha JUNO 2, and the thing has never...

(Side note, never even heard of the S8 before this thread. I gotta do some research on that one.)

Re: HELP: Minimoog Model D, constant 4th (?) oscillator soun
I would check that first. It's in the OUTPUTS section on the front panel. It's a blue switch labeled A 440. Just toggle that switch.

I read about a polyphonic moog modular somewhere online, and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. It's called the Abominamoog or something like that...

Re: not to stir up trouble, but...
A lot of it depends on the speakers, and the sound that the user dials in. There was a comparison someone did on YouTube, side by side with a Model D vs. the Voyager. Like you said, there's not much difference. Personally, I would probably get the Model D over the Voyager for no reason more than the...

Re: Please Post Your Problem Resolutions
Good idea, but it would require a sub forum for technical issues, and subsequent sub forums for the individual products, and stickies for the most common problems and the most commonly resolved problems. I think that various sub forums for individual vintage products would be a great idea. (Memorym...

Re: Mike Bucki current status
I'm guessing you've had no luck. I had my Memorymoog repaired by him last year. The thing was basically a smoky paperweight. Literally. I live in Buffalo, so it was easy for me to drop it off/pick it up. I called him about the dead oscillator and the petentiometer issues, and he said that he'd call ...
