Re: Post your latest purchase!!

Justa as a side note, my brand new Prophet REV2 (16 voice) had to fixed under warranty, because of faulty...wait for it...encoders ! Both the left and right front panel PCBs had to be replaced entirely because the encoders were being less and less reliable, often skipping or jumping around in value...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

Yep, you showed this already, lucky man :) I've read your blog post (thanks for sharing!) and left a piece of advice as a comment. Ooops! Yeah - just realized that. Actually, the potentiometer boards had to be shipped to DSI between the time the two posts were made. They have been a nightmare but n...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

I traded my Moog Sub 37 for a DSI Prophet 08! https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/25878_img_0465_1.jpg Since the release of the Subsequent line there has been a rush of folks dumping their Sub 37s. The prices are going down weekly. The timing for this trade couldn't have been better. The Prop...

Polychaining: The Phatt Bastard Project

I've been building a polychain of Phattys in what I'm calling The Phatt Bastard Project

The chain is presently up to 6 voices.

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

Wow :) Did-you part with the Sub37 because you liked the sound less than the LP's, or is the LP the winner because of the polychaining? Both. Originally I was going to control the chain with my Sub 37. Having one of the voices be way different than the others was not really convenient and the patch...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

I recently traded my Sub 37 for this Prophet 08. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/25878_img_0373_2.jpg Unfortunately I managed to Brick the damn thing within 24 hours of getting it. It's back from DSI now and sounds magnificent. I replaced the Sub 37 with Phatt Bastard ; a polychain of 5 S...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

I'm not sure why they were discontinued. Likely to make room in the lineup for their new Sub series.

#4 arrived today...

Slim Phatty Bootloader 1.1

I've just picked up 3 Slim Phattys. 2 of them came with Bootloader 1.1 and 1 came with 1.0. I've run the update procedure to take them all to version 3.21.690. I used the same PhattyLoader program (v1.0 RC 2) and the same SlimSystem_v3_21_690.hex file. The SP with Bootloader still has version 1.0. W...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

Slim Phatty # 2 is here. 2 more on their way. Holy crap is polychaining incredible. Oh, and the sound of the Slim Phattys BLOWS AWAY the sound of my Sub 37

Re: Share your synthesizer music!

I was farting around with DUSGs and some other toys when the sounds emanating forth from my modular beast transported my mind back into the old arcade days of the late '70s and early '80s. The piece is a combination of modular, slab and soft synths ( :woah: ). https://soundcloud.com/lowerwestsidestu...

Re: Sub37 Yellow Keys!

Yellow keys here too. Very sad. While the synth is near a window it is covered most of the time with a Moog brand cover (I mean, if you can't trust Moog to cover the Sub then who can you trust). Still it's yellow. The Sub 37 sits atop a Yamaha Motif XF6 and adjacent to a Yamaha DX7-II (used as a con...

Re: CV edition tutorials? - How to use the CV section?

I hear you... the silence can be deafening around here sometimes. I'm sorry but I don't have the CV model, just the plain, old Tribute Edition but I was wondering what you wanted to do with the control voltages? Do you have a modular you want to control? Is it another synth with CV in that you're in...

Re: Sub 37 and Reaper

I'll do some tests but I haven't really noticed timing problems whether the sequence played in Reaper or in the Sub 37.

My Sub is in for some keyboard service right now but when it returns I'll do some detailed testing.
