I've never seen an oscillator that can sync to an irregular external audio signal. Does anyone know if there are there precedents for this on any existing VCOs? The PLL creates a square wave that tracks (somewhat) to the input frequency. It would not track very well so you could not use it for pitc...

We're not only missing the ADSR, we're missing the VCA. Then you'd have the components to make a modular synth. Can't the ring mod be used as a VCA? I think you can plug a dummy plug into the carrier in to disable it, then supply a control voltage to the MIX input. Also, the new pedal must have a V...

Kevin Lightner wrote: Possibly it's a VCO thats hard-sync'd to an external signal.
That might be more interesting.
If that is what is going on or not, that's a good idea. I may have to experiment with this a bit :)

I guess we'll get the full specs an NAMM!

Why would this new pedal have a PLL? I don't see anything about frequency tracking. It says that the VCO is modulated by the audio input, which to me means that the envelope modulates the frequency and/or FM amount. From the leaked description: "Inside the FreqBox is a Voltage Controlled Oscill...

All we need now is a full featured envelope generator and you could build yourself a nice little Moog modular. Hook up a keyboard and your set! :D

You're just teasing us now, Greg.

On the "New at NAMM' page on moogmusic.com:

"We will give more details out very soon but let us share one thing with you all-
EVERYONE at Moog WANTS a FreqBox. We are truly enamored with this one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Nothing compares."

Wow, that Encore sounds great. But it has a RISC processor and DAC, so it's not as strictly analog as I would guess the Moog would be. I don't think you could physically fit a fully analog FS in a moogerfooger case, they require a LOT of circuitry. The digitally generated oscillators aren't such a ...

I've never been willing to spend the money on this extremely expensive effect, so I don't know exactly what it even sounds like... but I know I want one. ha ha There used to be a really cool sample of Wendy Carlos (I think) talking run through a Bode Frequency Shifter floating around on the interne...

It'll be interesting to see the price. I have a feeling it ain't going to be cheap. Hopefully that won't be its undoing. There are a LOT of cheap Rhodes' out there and many people aren't going to pay a couple thousand for something similar you can get for a few hundred. Hopefully (and it sounds lik...

Sounds like an oscillator/p-to-cv/freakin-awsomeness device to me. Can't wait, I better start saving $$$ now.

I wonder if the Rhodes will be an analog or a digital? Not sure. The specifications on the website are very ambiguous and the list repeats several things. It apparently features "Mark 7 technology" and "Modular format", whatever that means. It would seem pretty ridiculous...

When I turn my backlight all the way up on my EB I hear a high pitched frequency noise that hums in my ears. Is this common?
Yes. Search the archives for an explanation as this has been addressed many times before.
