Re: LP + LFO mod wheel LED

So, I'm guessing not? I hate to just clip them off, but it looks like it's time to open it up and disconnect it one way or another. Really bumming me out how bright it is.

Re: Modular 4 voice Oberheim massive repairs

NP-800, eep! Uses CPM too, yeah you're goning to geek out with that baby :-) I always used HP and TEK gear at work. Bought an old HP Scope and Analyzer, but haven't had the chance to use them since I bought them years ago. Well.. not entirely true, I have a pair of Lexicon 224's that could use some ...

Re: Next project almost complete

OMG SAS attack! Eric, that dwarfs your Fooger and Voyager Modular boxes! I would love some wide angles of how this is setup when you get it together. So yes, I've definitely got some rearranging to do already. In addition to the two 16U racks above the Voyager, there will be two more 16U racks on th...

Re: Analogic Oscilloscope on a Sub 37

The simplest thing is connect the audio output of your Moog directly in to Channel X input. Set it for DC input, and input the range of 0.1V to 1V per division. You cust run a solid core (not stranded) wire wrapped around an audio cable into the BNC connection, although depending on your grounding s...

Re: Using External with a drum-machine

No takers? DOMPEZ, thanks for all the info. Just to get the ball rolling; can you confirm that the problem seems to be with your Voyagers External Audio Input, and unrelated to your choice of preamp, DAW, Computer I/O, and PC type? That would narrow down the area of interest. I have a couple of thos...

Re: Modular 4 voice Oberheim massive repairs

@chromium, in my long time spent as a tech I found, first pass debugging digital logic can usually (90%) find the problem with a quick pass over the suspect area with a scope. You'll likely find the problem just by the 'look' of the signal; open, shorted, dead. Only the most recaltricant problems re...

Re: Modular 4 voice Oberheim massive repairs

I see it now. Pretty neat, but complicated. Must have been expensive/low volume even in it's hayday. Thanks for explaining that @MC.

Re: Modular 4 voice Oberheim massive repairs

I'm a digital guy, so excuse the ignorance, but are those ball bearings in those pots? if so, wow! Loved all those synths from the 70's and early 80's. Music shops had so many different types way back then. I remember helping the keyboard player in our band choose between the Juno-6, DX9, and Emulat...

Re: Which Moog to buy

@motion drive, if you can't swing the Voyager*, then I would go for the Sub37 - which has been my focus since I bought it last week - so much modulation functionality than the LP, not to mention the sequencer. I think a lot of the flavor of the video you posted comes from the MX200, once you subtrac...

Re: Next project almost complete

@Bryan B YES! that masterpiece was what got me off my butt and working on getting my Foogers into play :-) I love your modular beasty too. I'm already planing push my Fooger rack up, and put 5U's worth of modular EG's, Filters, and OSC's underneath it. The fun never ends :-)

Re: Next project almost complete

@EricK, BTW where do you have your modules listed? I can't identify some of them from the one manufacturer I know of; Synthesizers.com.

Silly me; they're Moog of course! NM!

Re: Next project almost complete

Thank you Bryan B! It's been a lot of work - wood and I never get along. Happily, it's offered a truce and I seem to be able to get straight cuts, and even alignment. Thhank you 'wood'! Here's what the current* endgame looks like. I have reserved 1U at the bottom of each rack to bring all the 1/4 in...

Re: RE: Mini / Multi - Home Recording (FX)?

Paul, yes I record the synths dry, plus extra tracks for the FX I used for the performance (that I recorded). That way, you can choose to keep the performances FX, or recreate them in a differernt fashion. I recommend recording any timing on seperate tracks to synchronize new FX with the original re...
