Re: Post your latest purchase!!

Congrats on the Rev2, I opted for the 8 voice back in mid October. The only issue I've experienced is something with the FX sounding like a ringmod like distortion which goes away with a power cycle. Not a show stopper and DSI have really been quick with the fixes and updates. They seem very committ...

Re: mixing with a minitaur.....monitor/sub advice?

I use 3 sets of speakers to check mixes. Event 20/20p (8" woofer) Old Alesis Monitor One's (6" woofer) and a pair of smaller multimedia speakers by Philips. Sometimes you have to roll off some bass with a low shelf at around 60hz and boost higher up somewhere around 160-500hz. Depends on t...

Re: Tips for making the Sub 37 sound like a Model D?

That's an idea! Would I feed my Minitaur into the ext in on my Sub 37? Use them separately in stereo? What's the best way to do it? I've noticed that the filter on the Sub is a looooot darker. The other main issue is getting the oscillators to have that wild, raw sound. There's a whole set of harmo...

Re: Sub 37 upgrade legit or troll?

This keybed upgrade thing is interesting. I think I would need to play a subsequent first to feel the difference though and that is not going to be possible. Can't wait to hear some reports back from you guys who go ahead with this.

Re: Tips for making the Sub 37 sound like a Model D?

Maybe a combination of the Sub37 and the Minitaur (3rd osc) would get you closer...Except for those hi octave leads. I would start by keeping the Sub's filter as open as possible, using the 6 pole setting and kb tracking to get it as bright as possible. Sorry to hear your Model D is acting a fool. G...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

Prophet Rev2 8 Voice...The raw sound is pretty good but the mod options are really what I was after. The keys play nice and smooth as well. If your Rev 2 keyboard (5 octaves) is as nice as the one on the Prophet 6 (only 4 octaves, but really great feel), then it should also make an ideal controller...

Re: Minitaur Editor - Hardware Disconnected

I'm using the Generic Windows 7 64x USB driver that installs automatically, never could get the Moog Midi Driver to be seen by Nuendo or the stand alone editor. I don't use the usb connection for anything other then the editor. Using the 5 pin midi for everything else... Midi notes, controller data ...

Re: Connecting Bass Guitar to Minitaur

Did you turn the external input up? VCA EG sustain up? VCA EG Attack down (zero)? Is the signal plugged into the gate jack correct? (+5V) That's all I can think of at the moment besides trying a midi note instead of the gate jack input. Works great here.

What about when you have a project and you have the settings you want, then just save the project. If you open that project with the saved settings do your synths reset?
Read my post again, it works perfectly as it should.

Re: Opening Ableton -program change

I had this happen once with Nuendo/Cubase. I was creating a patch with the hardware and didn't have the DAW open. When I finally opened the DAW and loaded my new song template the settings changed. It was because I had the Sub37 vst editor loaded in my new song template. The vst editor saves the sta...

Re: Connecting Sub and Slim Phatty?

Well, I made a four headed monster. Both synths on an independent channel, then each of the direct outputs on my mixer feeds each synth into the other. My neighbourgs must be hating me  I also tried puttin one of them into last note priority and the second one on low note. I have to tame i...

Re: Slim phatty vs Sub 37

I've had the S37 for a little over a year and just got a used Slim a few weeks ago. So far the Slim has been a great addition. The difference in sound is pretty obvious to me. The Slim has more of an organic sound and the Sub37 can be slightly more clinical, precise sounding. They both sound absolut...

Re: does the Sub 37 have issues on Pc?

All is quite well here. Windows 7 64x, (Nuendo 6.5)
Usb for the editors, 5 pin for all midi data. (midi clock, notes, controllers)
Both the vst and stand alone versions are rock solid although I haven't used
the stand alone version in a while.
