Re: What polysynth to go along with a Voyager?

If you want DSP based go with a Virus. If you're in the mood for analog poly, the Elektron Analog 4 pairs extremely well with a Voyager, and comes in a keys version as well. Personally I love using my XL as a master to the A4, and I could see it being equally useful for one of the Virus rack version...

Re: MF-104M Discontinued?

Noisebug as well. Wow... if they really are done with this line I may need to scoop up one more - would be really awesome to have stereo analog delay hooked up to my XL.

Re: 1.1.0 is now here!

I poked around on the new Elektron site and managed to find C6 (I found it under Machinedrum downloads)

Re: 1.1.0 is now here!

This is a terrific present right before the weekend! Right after installing 1.1.0 I cooked up a massively dark droning sound that utilized the new insta-mod-dest-map feature to tweak Osc2 Beat Freq and Cutoff Freq with a looping filter envelope. Its big brother Voyager XL is just sitting there watch...

I noticed that recently as well. I wonder if it is truly opening the filter or there is something else going on behind the scenes? Nevertheless it's a cool "hidden" feature!

Re: S37 - Ladder Filter Collapsing!

I'm filting with the idea of flying it to Asheville myself, checking out the factory and music scene, and flying home with baby 100% (I hope) That sounds like a great plan! Just give Moog a call up before you make any final arrangements to be sure they can accommodate your repair when you're in town.

Re: Sub 37 Delayed vibrato

Hmm... 1-shot LFO for the wish list?

I've been making do with assigning aftertouch to control vibrato - works fairly well, although AT sensitivity needs some finessing as well in the firmware (IMO).

Re: Duration of time it takes to do repairs

You can contact them to ask about the length of the queue... for me last October it was about a month to repair one of the mod busses on my Voyager XL. The good thing is that I only needed to send in the analog board from the back of the XL, which was fairly easy to remove. Also you can pay $50 (aga...

Re: Alternative Dust Covers

I have custom covers from https://www.digitaldeckcovers.com/ for every single one of my keyboards, rack & mixer, except for the Sub 37. Just haven't gotten around to it, but also haven't really felt the need since I rarely find myself wanting to cover up my gear - it gets used just about every d...

Re: Decision support: is the Voyager a reliable synthesizer?

With regard to Moog publishing a list of affected serial numbers: I see this as having no value other than to negatively impact the resale value of those units. Since they are not implementing an actual recall, but instead offering a pseudo "extended warranty" (pseudo in the sense that we ...

Re: Adding Reverb/Delay/.. to Sub 37?

MF-104M here... it will absolutely color your delayed signal tho, very dark and low, but it is pure analog goodness and has a ton of CV inputs for additional control. When you get the feedback set into a nice sweet spot, you can just about use the delayed signal for a beat track. I'm thinking of add...

Re: Sub 37 triangle wave volume

Triangle wave harmonics fall off more steeply than squares too, resulting in a lower perceived volume. I've been wondering myself about triangle waves, and how best to utilize them in sound design? I know they're good for helping with bell-type sounds, but sweeping the filter and cranking the resona...

Re: Help newbie decide: Voayger vs Sub37

If I was buying a Moog for the studio it would be a Voyager XL with the long-term goal of using its CV capabilities patched to an ever expanding array for Moogerfoogers and such. :D That's what I ended up doing earlier this year, and it has been a dream synth come true for me. I pre-ordered the Sub...

Re: Sub 37 - Non-Tribute Edition?

I can only speculate, so I'll just say this: the Sub 37 is probably the best $1500 I've spent on a synth ever. The build quality is incredibly high, including the knobs, buttons, and yes (at least to me) even the keyboard (maybe a bit weak on the velocity and after touch). The sound itself is massiv...
