does the rouge have ring mod also, i thought it didn't if it doesn't that's one thing that could swing you over to an mg-1 No, I don't think the Rogue has the ring mod, nor does the prodigy. Just the MG-1. It's not a fancy ring mod, it's a simple circuit that uses a logic chip to do the sum and dif...

But does anyone have experience of this instrument? I'm just thinking - there was a guy here not long ago who wants a Moog but can't afford a Voyager or a Mini. A friend lent me one after I lost my Arp Odyssey in a fire. I think it has a lot of potential. It would be a good beginner's synth, but al...

You have a point there. I think if the CV routing were there, so that you could get out to a Fooger Ring Mod, and also out and back to/from the CP-251, that would make sense. There's noise on the CP-251, so maybe the noise gen really could be left out in the model you propose as well. i don't think ...

try finding an old copy of Allen Strange's "Electronic Music: Systems, Techniques, Controls" (I think that's what it's called). The first edition is really from the old analog days.

I agree with most of the folks who say they should put out an affordable mono-synth with at least: 2 VCO w/ sync and PWM 1 LFO 2 ADSR or 1 ADSR and 1 AR 1 VCF 1 VCA S/H RingMod Noise Gen And some patchability in the signal path (like being able to put the VCO's into the S/H instead of just the Noise...

This is a tad impractical advice, since they are so $$$ but an Arp 2600 makes a very nice add-on to a guitar. It has a pre-amplifier on it that you can put your guitar into, and the pre-amp is hardwired to an envelope follower. From there you've got a filter, ring mod, and tons of other stuff. But t...

Good question about the memory man... I looked on ElectroHarmonix' web site, they said it had, I think 550 MS. Wasn't that the same time the 'fooger pedal had? Yes, the Blacet caugh my attention, but it requires a chassis, powerSupply... Anything similar to a fooger? I'm really interested in trying ...

re: recommend a delay?

It's not analog, it's digital, and I don't own any MF pedals (I just like to read these forums) but, all that considered... I contemplated the Moog delay for a long time, and then decided I needed more than a second's memory. So I went for the Line 6 DL4 delay modeler. I don't use much on the pedal ...

Discrete vs. Non-Discrete?

Hello, I've been reading some of the threads here and encountered a term I've never seen in all my years of analog synthesis. In the debates over old Moogs/new Moogs/other synths/new synths, etc. there has been some talk about "discrete" components" versus components that are "no...
