Did you try using the mod wheel as a source? You can fade modulation in very easily that way.

Did you try using the external CV input? Check for tarnishing on that jack too (if it carries the KB voltage through a normalised connection).

What you want is a lag processor or low pass filter to smooth the sharp transitions. It's very easy to make a passive LPF with just a resistor and a capacitor, they can even be built into 1/4" cables.

In a nutshell, I didn't like it. A potentially fantastic machine on paper, but it is not a mature product yet. And some of its problems are hardware design based, and not correctable in firmware.
