Re: Moog Grandmother
As it is now, seems impossible to use the LFO out to mixer and sound like an actual extra oscillator. I might be wrong, but it’s how things are right now. Among the manual's patching examples, they have a "Three Saws" patch. KeyOut (which should refer to pitch voltage) is patched into Rat...

Re: Moog Grandmother
From the videos I have seen so far it seems like an extremely versatile mono-synth. Also, it is in a price range that I can handle. A Model D has been a wet dream for my whole life, but I will never spend that amount of money on a keyboard (I am mainly a guitar player). The Grandmother, on the other...

Rubber "foot" for SP?
Hi: Just just bought a barely used SP. I am beginning to really love it. A detail creating a minor nuisance is that one of the four rubber "feets" is missing. It makes the SP a tiny bit unstable. Where would be a good place to get a replacement? If I write moog, do they sell spare parts at...

Re: Minimoog shipment from outside US for repair
I am having a similar problem. I have the reissue of the EHX 16 second digital delay, and shortly after its release, EHX offered a mod that removed an annoying count-in before recording. I wrote them and found out that they still did this for $35! So I sent the pedal from EU to New York, and now it ...

Re: MF-103 Sweep In bleed
The Manual is actually a bit confusing on this (for me). In the main text it says that the "Sweep In" accepts audio, but in the technical part, it is described as input for voltage control. I must admit, I have never used it, as the rest is more than enough for me.

Re: Minitaur editor problems again!
Sure, when Moog release these firm- and software, they should work. I think maybe Moog should spend less time on detailed editors, and more time on hardware. After all, it is the hardware that is the main product. Demanding it to be working as a fully functional VST is too much, I think. It is a phy...

Re: Are the Minitaur’s CV inputs protected from over-voltage
My understanding is that you don't fry the Minitaur immediately, but that you shouldn't overload it on a permanent basis. These voltage numbers mean something.
So I would take no chances and attenuate.

Why were they so quickly discontinued? I would love just having one. It seems as a nice companion to a Minitaur.Flareless wrote:Slim Phatty # 2 is here. 2 more on their way. Holy crap is polychaining incredible. Oh, and the sound of the Slim Phattys BLOWS AWAY the sound of my Sub 37

Re: Moog synth sighting! ZOMBI
I saw Queens of the Stone Age the other week (awesome). And while primarily a guitar-based band, they actually use quite a bit of synthesizers. Troy Van Leeuwen (who was 'poster boy' for the minifoogers) played a bit on what I suppose was a Sub Phatty. More extensively was Dean Fertita's use of a Su...

Re: A simple DAW for Minitaur?
I have used Tracktion since 06, and it fit my purposes. Demo free and good. Full version is cheap and very, very good.
It may look a bit dated, but I like the clarity and no-nonsense of the basic functionality.

May I ask, how do you handle the "Hz/v problem" (if it is a problem; I mean some still actually play the instruments )?

Re: Post your latest purchase!!
A Yamaha CS-15 in excellent condition. :D (Only a little audible scratching in the LFO knob for the VCF of OSC 1 - I can live with that.) So far, it has been super fun to play with, and it sounds fantastic. I have yet to test the CV in functions, but will soon do that, as I discovered that the Beats...

Re: CP-251 Additional 9V Insert Socket Missing?
Don't worry. I am hopeless with this, but I managed to follow instructions and rack mount mine. Instruction are not Ikea style (this issue is a note at the end; most focus is on how to daisy chain power among two VX-351s), but when you have the unit it in front of you, it follows quite easily..

Re: Rack 'Em Up!
I am also "racking up" at the moment. One 20U unit just for 6 Moogerfoogers and the CP251 (one has to have 1 or 2 U space above each MF rack, as it is otherwise difficult to get to the in- and output suckets). I have space for a 1U patch bay where I have inserted all audio in/out from the ...
