Sub 37 key action

Hi - has anyone noticed that the keyboard on the Sub 37 feels different from the Phatty's and the Voyager's? In addition to all the keys feeling generally firmer on the Sub 37, the black keys seem to need more pressure than the white ones. I like the firmness of the Sub 37's keys, because it's close...

Re: Wtb Vintage Minimoog Needing Repair

thealien666 - How much time did you put into restoring your Minimoog Model D? I believe a restoration like yours is beyond most of us on this forum. Its a credit to your technical knowledge, ability, perseverance, and the fact that the Minimoog's vintage design makes difficult repairs possible that ...

Re: Wtb Vintage Minimoog Needing Repair

I as well as a few others here did exactly what you plan to do. I bought a Minimoog needing repair at a great price and was able to fix it myself. In my case I was lucky as the required repairs were relatively minor. I would bet though that many others on this forum would also love to get a hold of ...

Thanks - I see its back now. I didn't see it here for a while and when I found it using the search function it said the found post no longer existed. Perhaps it was just a glitch in the Matrix :)

Re: sub 37 bass

Franklinstower - best of luck with your music and your band. One of the reasons that its hard to synthesize the sound of a Rhodes Bass Piano on any analog synth is that the harmonic intervals of struck metal rods are different from most acoustic instruments and analog synth waveforms. This is especi...

Missing post?

Why was a post started by Franklinstower about using a Sub 37 to emulate a bass piano, as heard in some Grateful Dead songs, erased from this forum? The contents are partially reproduced below: Re: sub 37 bass Hi Franklinstower - welcome to the forum! A Rhodes(?) bass piano is an electro-acoustic in...

Re: sub 37 bass

Hi Franklinstower - welcome to the forum! A Rhodes(?) bass piano is an electro-acoustic instrument with a rather distinct timber that may not be the easiest sound to emulate on the Sub 37 synthesizer. If you give us a track with an example of the exact sound that you are looking for, someone here ma...

Re: Sub 37 - Non-Tribute Edition?

If you look in the recently available PDF of the Sub 37 owners manual, the black and white line art illustrations of the Sub 37 appear to be of the non-tribute version, with what appears to be Sub Phatty like black rubber side panels.

Minimoog Model D needs light hard road case

Hey - can anyone recommend a reasonably priced light weight hard case for my 1973 Minimoog? The anvil / calzone hard cases with the steel corners are too heavy and expensive while the gig bags available do not seem to offer enough protection for live gigging. A very well padded soft case may also be...

Re: My 1996 visit to Big Briar

What a wonderful picture! I went to a sythfest in NYC around that time (an event that later possibly became Moogfest) and had the pleasure to have a long talk with Bob Moog. He was such a kind and modest man!

Did you recently get this Minimoog? Are you experienced with its use? I only ask this because you are new on this forum.

The bubble wrap does not seem to create any static electricity issues at all however it is a tempting to pop it from time to time :) I always enjoy hearing the variety of solutions this forum offers!

Re: Dusty! (help?)

I have tried several different synth covers over the years including thealiens666's pillow case idea and MC's towels. The dust, as MC noticed, always got through these cloth covers. I also worried about accidentally covering a synth without turning it off (which would possibly make a synth like a Pr...

Re: I have the next big idea

The Sequential Circuits digitally controlled effects units was the 500 Series Pro-FX Audio Signal Processing System and included eq., distortion, and other effects. Unfortunately this forum is not allowing me to post a picture.

Re: I have the next big idea

Sequential Circuits made a series of digitally controlled rack analog effects with patch memories back in the 80's however, this FX series was not well publicized nor made in significant numbers.
