Topic: bass murf or regular murf for voyager?

I have a voyager and a regular murf and I generally find the midrange (from 450Hz up) to be where the most interesting textural stuff seems to occur. As a result, I tend to use it almost exclusively on midrange sounds. But then I wouldn't use it on bass sounds anyway. For one thing, it definitely re...

Rudi, > It's possible to change that in the next software updates That'd be fantastic. And thinking about future updates, would it be possible to add individual oscillator wave shape to the programmable destinations for the two busses? I've often wanted to control one of the oscillator's pulse width...

Touchpad MIDI CC allocation problem [for RL, perhaps?]

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone can tell me why you can only allocate MIDI controllers 0 to 63 to the x and y axes of the touchpad. Almost all of my synths that use ccs seem to favour the top half of the range and I can't use the touchpad with them as a result. Seems a rather strange decision, bu...

All analog circuits produce hiss. It's an inescapable fact of quantum reality :) Since hiss is basically white noise the fewer the harmonics in the source signal, the more you will notice it. Hence, it will be most obvious if you use a source wave with few harmonics (like a triangle) or you close th...

The voyager is pretty well specified in the fm department, I think. All three oscillators are available as modulators, with vco2 and vco3 both available as carriers (as is the overall pitch). The two mod busses mean that you can have vco2 and vco3 modulate each other. There aren't many other synths ...

Yeah, must agree that it is a pity that you can transpose the keyboard and the incoming MIDI stream but not the outgoing one, which would probably be more useful. Perhaps in 3.2...

This *might* be being driven by nova musik and not moog, though. They have a limited edition cosmetically customised studio electronics se-1x as well, I see...

Alot of peeps say the G2 engine is even better but I just don't like the computer interface part because you can't design patches straight from the synth itself. The editing from the synth itself is pretty fully featured: every parameter can be assigned to a knob. So you can expose as many or as fe...

Re: what VA blends better with the voyager sound?

It'll mainly be used for ambiences/fx. Since that's the case, it'll need to be a synth with effects, which rules out all the nords other than the g2. Because the g2 is modular it is easily the best VA for ambiences and fx, but this (and the computer interface) is also what puts some people off. For...

FWIW, a while ago someone posted a sound clip comparing a mini with an andromeda on analogue heaven (which contains more than its fair share of synth snobs). A number of people posted their opinions but very few (if any) correctly identified which clip went with which synth. Sure it's just one test,...

Re: Filter programming - Please update the System software!!

Wow - what were they thinking when they programmed the Moog rack??? The midi standard for cutoff frequency is Midi parameter #74, resonance is #71 ... So what does Moog Music do? They concoct some crazy combination of MSB and LSB values that are impossible to program into my Oxygen 8 controller. Je...

Got a fuzz factory yesterday: what an excellent pedal. Way more musically useful than I thought it'd be and yet also capable of gut churning noise. I sequenced my voyager using a tb303 and then ran it through the ff. Real brown acidtechno :D
