I just finally got around to loading the last OS improvement to my Tribute over the weekend. No troubles..... I will have to keep my eyes open for the next one. I noticed that there is a new installation program that you can download with the OS. What was wrong with Midiox? I have had no problem wit...

Well, I will never check on a Minimax every night before I go to bed like I do my precious Minimoog (not as weird as it sounds--just a mental good night kiss in a pride of ownership kind of way.... ), but the Minimax does sound great with all that polyphony, even if it does not sound exactly ...

Well done gents!

It proves what I have said all along; there is nothing like a Mini D.

Gotta admit, however, that the polyphony of the Minimax is intriguing. Lots of Minimoog voices for the price! Kind of like a poor mans Memorymoog!

Rubber feet on LP

I just got a Roland VK-7 from eBay, and so I had to move my rig around to suit it. My LP went from the bottom of a two tier stand to the top. The trouble is, the rubber feet on the LP are EXACTLY in line with the supports from the rack stand, and the back of the support just barely makes contact wit...

To me, mint means that the synth is in perfect condition on the outside, but it must be working perfectly as well. If I bought a "mint" synth off of eBay and it looked perfect but did not work, I would be pissed..... In actuality, however, I suppose that Kevin's definition is correct for a...

Re: Not sold out yet?!?

Isn't it strange that the Tribute still isn't sold out? I think that it may have something to do with the fact that the Stage is such a bitchin' looking little unit. Frankly, if I would have had the opportunity to choose between the two, I would have chose the Stage. I love its industrial look--the...

Looks like the A6 needs to be treated as an individual and I have some learning to do, you kinda need to think in a more modular way.. Exactly! And with no prior modular experience, it has been an absolute bitch for me to figure out. I much prefer the simplicity of the Model D and the LP. The A6 is...

Mal, I will be interested to hear what you think about the A6. I have one and I have never been able to totally figure it out enough to use it to it's maximum. The Prophet 08 would probably be more to my liking, as it is a simpler instrument. It is hard to part with the Andromeda, though, because of...

First of all, understand that there is nothing that will take the place of a Mini D. Lots of good stuff around to come close, however, including the LP. The LP is a great little keyboard, it is light and portable, and it will sound close in many cases. It certainly comes out at the right price point...

I have nothing to go by except my ear, but I don't believe that Rick Wakeman used much overdrive or feedback loop. I can mimic all of his standard sounds on my Mini D without such tricks. Wakeman's sound was more about shimmering mids and highs (except for the awesome low octave stuff on Merlin) rat...

So for me, it basically comes down to reliability of the voyager vs the old brighter sound of the mini d. I might not have read this correctly, but I'd think the Vger would be a lot more reliable than a 30+ year old model D, especially for live gigging. I agree with Kevin here. For gigging, the Voy...
