Hi - I was a Steinberg user for 20 years but about 6 months ago I discovered Ableton Live. Truly awesome musical instrument, make Cubase looks as musical as a brick..
Also mess around with my fr777 and tb303 for driving things (my 303 has the MidiBass MIDI in/out kit which rocks).

As far as the LCD screen, you could use the lamp. Hi - no, there is nothing wrong with the LCD screen. Its the LEDs under the screen. They are so bright that when you are looking at the LCD screen you have to squint to get your focus past the brightness of the LEDs.. Sticking PostIt notes over the ...

Voyager - one thing I dont like
If you can use a synth to view your bones, its time to turn down the LEDs a tad. Check out my ET impression! Im not exaggerating, those LEDs really hurt my eyes  My studio is not as bright as it could be and if trying to read the main LCD, the overpowering illumination from the LEDs really hu...

..just to add a little. One of our favourite techniques is to layer the Voyager with MS20 using the MS20's ESP following the Voyagers head phone signal. Latest DVDA track (linked below) uses this quite a bit along with 303 overdriving the Voyagers input and MS20 tracking the 303s audio. And yep, our...

Hi Guys The envelope parameters for vol. and filter can both be modulated via the touch screen. You can also use them as shaping sources. Hey - just looked and yep, you can do just the attack via the touch screen. Other than using some external MIDI lfo, I don't believe there is anyway to actually m...

Modulate Filter Env Attack - Possible?
Had a bit of a disappointment tonight.. Got an Evolver a couple of months ago and quickly discovered a cool new effect: I routed a slow LFO to the filter env attack. Its a really great effect, every note sounds slightly different but in a great way. Very much different to just modulating the overall...

I was a Steinberg user for 20 years(!) and then I 'discovered' Ableton Live5 - just really can not describe how productive, musical, and fun it is. Make Cubase look as musical as a brick.. I would imagine that everyone in here is into analogue because of 1) sound and 2) the fun factor. So, if you th...

I wont order from the US as import duties and tax are a pain. Besides, every few months you know someone who is making the trip and I presume it will be a very small package.. I am also watching what Turnkey do. Im really hoping that once the kit is released their price will be a bit more sensible..

Yes, this very much does suck.. Anyway you look at it, its expensive: 1) its the current $325 Moog price which equates to £176 2) its the future self install kit $225 Moog price which equates to £122 Looks like we will have to wait for some to visit the US.. I dont mind paying £122 but not no way £2...

Hi - thanks for all the replies so far. It does look intriguing. I listened to the audio clips last night and to be honest, these Ring Modulation clips sound a little like my least favourite effect: 'flanging'. Is this just because they have used the LFO to vary the amount, so you get a typical slow...
