I can identify the sounds very easily. Flanging is muc more harmonic, phasing sounds like a filter sweep, kind of. I know that flaging was originally produced by syncing two tape machines (with something recorded on them already) and manually slowing one down by pressing on the flange. The resulting...

I think they should make a Moog poser-fighting robot. All analog.

lets just say i've seen quite a few bands with microkorg and quite a few bands with a voyager...... I really haven't been terribly impressed with the voyager bands.... it's all these glorified gear heads who obviously have really nice day jobs and no music talent at all......whereas the struggling ...

I like the poem. I see the "more affordable synthesizer" has the most votes. I think it's a good idea.....I mean.... do you guys know why there are so many god damn high school kids learning guitar and not analog synthesis??? THE COST!!!!..... I am so sick of music being standardized by th...

the k-station was on my wishlist for a while, but the keyboard is so tiny and the sound didn't really hit it. it also didn't convince me aesthetically. it had sliders, which i didn't like, even on my rogue. Dude. It has four sliders for the the amp ADSR. That's it. Will you just not touch sliders a...

what are foot pedals used for? i never really understood this. i used to use a flanger pedal in my early days as a synth player, but it had a switch to switch it on and off and two knobs for depth and frequency. so i couldn't really use it to a great effect as a keyboarder as i was already tweaking...

I think our opinions of the foot controller are a bit differnt. Mine would be more like a wah/volume pedal. The Ernie Ball Volume is what I have in mind, but with extra space out to the right side to move over to. The horizontal axis would be spring loaded (like a a morley wah) and the vertical axis...

it'd be rad if moog made another mooger-fooger pedal but went in a crazy direction with it... use that X/Y axis touchscreen idea (like on the voyager/the kaoss pad). but make it an honest foot-pedal out of it. instead of a screen, have a pedal that not only presses back and forth (like a wah wah) b...

A well applied fuzz is always nice. I'm fond of the EH Big Muff for this task. I also like a good reverb, but then again, who doesn't?

The effects!!! I hate them! I swear, every preset on that thing is just drenched in delay. That's not what a synth is about.

Playing high is not about the keyboard. It's about the knobs. When sober, the synth is amazing. It can do anything. When high, everything is amazing. Thus, it makes amazing things phenomenal! When drunk, it's confusing and upsetting. High and drunk are totally different.

I believe if you want the sound of a Moog you need to get a Moog. If you can't afford a Moog then perhaps the Ion. It can be kind of Moogy. Or how about the Arturia soft synths? The MicroKorg is a nice little synth but, the Microkorg just isn't Moogy. You're best bet is to get a Voyager. There are ...
