Soubd lab Junip drum sound?

I was checking out the song by Junip, and have been trying to figure out the great drum sound. I checked out the studio version of the song they played, and it is not the same, so it is obviously some MF's after the mics. I tried to get the snare sound with a delay to no avail. Any ideas on what is ...

Re: dreaming of the Voyager's successor...

Oh come on fellas, the warmup is one of the delightful quirks of analog. It makes you wait for it, like a woman playing hard to get. I love having to tune the mini as well, it's part of the wonderful ritual of playing a real musical instrument.

Re: Minimoog Clone

Cool project, but I doubt it cost less in time and money than an Old School. Also wonder if it has red noise as a mod. Probably not.

Re: A few samples of the MF104MSD with the sax

That's great advice. Thanks! I'll do that. Any recommendations on patches to start out with? Well you have the 104m, right, so you can use the lfo to get cool choruses. I like to modulate the delay time very slightly with a square or S&H, makes it slightly unstable like a tape delay. Also I not...

Re: A few samples of the MF104MSD with the sax

Just start with a couple and get used to them before you get anymore. I only have the cp-251, delay, and filter (and mp-201), and have never run out of cool things to do. Once you start getting into cv, it's like a blank canvas, it's endless. Learn the technical side first, then make your patches cr...

Re: Building a Home Studio

Just get Logic or if you have a PC, get abelton live or even pro tools or whatever. They all have good samplers, and you can use your tempest or keyboards to trigger samples. I wouldn't waste money on a hardware sampler if I were you. As far as interfaces, to tell you the truth, they are all pretty ...

Re: A few samples of the MF104MSD with the sax

Eric, short of going the wireless/clip on route, using a small cap condenser might work with the highs rolled off with an eq, or just go for the tried and true sm57/58 dynamic. It's not sexy, but it gets the job done, especially with the loud sources. Cheap too. Bamorello, you might also consider a ...

Re: Do I want a Phatty if I own a Voyager already?

The sub phatty or 37 would complement the voyager much better. The problem is you might end up liking it more. They really came through with the tone on the sub.

Re: A few samples of the MF104MSD with the sax

Cool bleep. Yeah, I never thought of it before, but the sax would be perfect with the 101 because it has so much high frequency content. You can really shape the tone radically while still keeping the character of the sax. I play clavinet, which also has a large high frequency content, and with the ...

Re: A point in the right direction

for acoustic sources, you need the 101 filter, it will be a lot more useful, especially with the 104. Also look into a CP251 to control them. You can add all kinds of cool choruses, vibratos, tremolos, etc. Things like the 102 and 107 are not going to react predictably with the tone of a sax, and wh...

Re: Model D Pitch wheel mod

I don't really care about the wheels themselves unless they are not replaceable. I saw in youtube video Kevin Lightner used to have a LED wheel mod, though not sure if they were already clear wheels or replaced. I guess can live without the spring, but perhaps I could get you to do a deadband mod, C...

Model D Pitch wheel mod

Not sure if I have asked this before, but couldn't find it in the search. The stock pitch wheel on my model D is cramping my style pretty bad. I used to have a voyager, and the pitch wheel on that was amazing, I could use the spring to create all kinds of crazy inflections and it would always go bac...

Re: Sound Lab

I hear what you are saying about synths not working for some styles like country, but come on, everything is sequenced and has synths in it these days. All hip hop has synths, all electronic/dubstep has synths, most fusion stuff has synths. I am not even really into these styles that much, but I jus...
