Eric, Mark... a clone! What a great idea! Seriously, though, I'm not keen on playing out with a computer for a whole lot of reasons. I use my Fantom as a sequencer and though I have no trouble with sequencing bass lines and repetitive patterns, I don't want to do the Daft Punk thing and mime while t...

Tech support sent me the latest version of the firmware by e-mail and I sent it to the LP using MIDI-OX. IT was a simple enough fix once we got to that point. Just give them a call or e-mail... Though I doubt you'll get someone today.

I just got my LP, but I got it specifically for bass and leads. [I had budgeted for mid-January, but the CP-251 offer forced me to move up the schedule! Guess I can live on ramen for a couple of weeks.] I had been using my Akai AX60 for bass and leads, but the MIDI implementation is pretty minimal a...

Very nice! I agree... It has a kind of ELP showstopper kind of sound. All you need is a stadium full of fans.

Eric... What areas of history interest you? My research focuses on post-WWII United States, but I teach the whole range of US history -- and a summer course on popular music. Voltor... $250 for a Matador is actually pretty good. Some brands -- Farfisa, Vox, Gibson -- command much higher prices than ...

Cool! Great info, there. Never seen a YC-20, except in an old National Geographic advertisement. They look pretty well made. The Matador seems to be pretty high maintenance, though it also can be easily modified with audio outs if the speakers are removed. Mine also has a rhythm section that's pret...

Okay... I'm still new here, so I'll post about me. I'm a history lecturer and PhD candidate at Rutgers University. I'm originally from Montreal, but came down here for school. I'm on the wrong side of 35 and the hair loss has gotten to the point where I just shave my damned head. I'm interested in a...

What other combo organs have you played? I recently discovered the joy of combo organs. See my signature. :D I've had a Farfisa Professional, Farfisa Combo Compact, Ace-Tone Top Five and the Jaguar. I've played a Vox Continental, Yamaha YC-20 and a Farfisa VIP-345. The Matador is basically the home...

Yes, I called. I'm traveling tomorrow, so I can't really wait. There's a number at the bottom of the pages at the main Moog Music site.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. The Fantom is a damned useful instrument. The combination of ROMpler, sequencer, rhythm and sampler is very powerful. It doesn't produce pads like the JX8P or leads like the Moog, but that's not what I use it for. I agree that the AX60 is vastly underrated. It is a much...

Problem solved. Amos Gaynes at Moog tech support was an IMMENSE help. Patient and knowledgeable. For years, I've been wondering where the good tech support guys are. Now I know.

Help! Data Error

I just got my Little Phatty 2 this morning. I played around with it for a while and then decided to use it to record a lead and a bass in a track I've been working on. I connected it to my workstation [Fantom X6] MIDI out, through my JX8P, setting the LP's receive channel to 14. I had no MIDI proble...

Well... I'm new here, so I'll introduce my rig. The Little Phatty is new -- just got it today. I have some basses and leads to record today, and the time to do it, so the timing is excellent. http://www.blam.ca/pix/Studio%20Dec08.jpg From top to bottom of the main stand: Akai AX60 Roland JX8P Roland...
