<Has anyone built any interesting custom modules to use with your VGer or other Moog gear?> Well, I've constructed what I call a semi-modular system based on some standard rack-mount components. I posted the PDF file on the Yahoo MMV Users Group website: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/mmvoyage...

By 'Moog equipment', are you referring to the Voyager or Moogerfoogers? A Voyager will get you the classic sounds of analog synths (Moog bass, Moog lead, sounds effects, etc.) and give you some external processing capability to boot. Great if you can already play a keyboard. Also expensive, but ther...

FWIW, I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to duplicate the synth sound at the end of ELP's 'From the Beginning' on my MMV for many months. I'm beginning to think that it was actually programmed and played on the modular as opposed to the Minimoog. The Minimoog patchbook doesn't have the 'From the Begi...

Regarding the previous post on Keith Emerson's modular Moog, I located the source of the information: Vintage Synthesizers by Mark Vail, 2nd edition, page 123. This large paperbook text is actually a Keyboard Magazine publication and is a handy reference (as well as a great read) for older (AKA vint...

Keith Emerson mainly used a MiniMoog-like patch on the modular system (i.e. osc-filter-amplifier) in concert. I recall reading this in an interview with Keith's tech Will Alexander. Will also mentioned that the modular system has lab-quality specs (0-100KHz) which no doubt accounts for the incredibl...

Keyboardcontrollers, I've also have noticed a problem using Apple's Safari browser on the Moog website. What I have found is that the Moog website doesn't seem to respond correctly to selected menu items embedded in the page. Specifically, if I select the SOFTWARE menu item on the 50th anniversary M...

You know, it was really Wendy Carlos who brought the Moog Synthesizer to the public's attention with the release of the classic "Switched-On Bach" (SOB) back in 1968. For a while, it sold more classical recordings than any other classical recording, and spawned a whole "Switched-On&qu...

Just an honorable mention for Keith? Emo did make Moog a big name, but for my money he is (and always will be) THE premo Prog keyboard wizard! No dis to Wakeman, but I believe that of the two, Keith had much better chops. Speaking of KrautRock, I didn't notice any mention of Triumvirat. They were a ...

New OS

Let me add my voice to the list of folks clammering for the new update! There are a lot of good ideas proposed in this forum; let's hope that the significant ones are part of the next update and that it arrives soon!

BTW, does anyone from Moog Music respond to these forums?

V/R,
Greg
