Re: Minimoog pre amp?
Thanks for both peoples replies. I am kind of rude sometimes as I mean to reply and then forget. I apologize. I was leaning towards just a cheap 4 channel mixer because I use one with my mother 32's and they have a ton of gain in them and dont seem to color the sound at all. I never considered getti...

Minimoog pre amp?
I have noticed that my Minimoog reissue is not nearly as loud as my sub 37. Not sure if that is going to be a problem or not when playing live but my max volume coming out of two EV PA's is a bit underwhelming. Do most of you guys use pre amps with your Minimoog? If yes any recommendations about wha...

Re: Model D Reissue Noise Level
Dude that is so badass. I cant wait but am a little intimidated by taking mine apart.ummagumma wrote:FYI I was messing around with it today, here is another noise level sample with all 3 osc on full

so it's definitely audible above the osc's now!

Re: Model D Reissue Noise Level
ah....no John Updike the author ( RIP ) helped me out, by holding up the base of the chassis. See? he's in the pic, admiring the through hole construction ;) I carefully removed the back panel ( there are 18 screws holding it on ) and then, with the chassis propped up at a right angle ( thanks John...

Re: Model D Reissue Noise Level
I just opened mine up to have a look ( with some help from John Updike ) here are a couple pics: http://el34.coolpage.biz/images/D/boards.jpg http://el34.coolpage.biz/images/D/noise.jpg the noise trim pot is on the 2nd board, behind the one on the left it's pretty easy to adjust turning the trim po...

Re: Model D Reissue Noise Level
As it turns out..... http://gladmarr.com/images/NOISE.JPG Is that the noise level trim-pot on reissue? If so what level was yours set at and how much higher can it go? I feel like the noise levels are WAY too low to be useful for me. I cannot get enough overall volume out of my Minimoog if I keep t...

Looking for a VO-96
I recently became aware of Paul Vo and his VO-96 acoustic synthesizer. I must say that it is one of the most incredible instruments I have ever seen!! I immediately sent some demos to my guitarists and she was blown away and decided she must have one only to discover that they are not available for ...

Re: Any word on Moog guitars?
As the Vo-96 II is projected to start after the Wond II (now called EMpick) I would assume the MkI is no longer for sale. It looks like you can sign up for Vo-96 II now but it could be a while before that project sees the light, I'm still waiting on the EMpick which I'm guessing will be late Spring...

Re: Any word on Moog guitars?
You can visit the Paul Vo website, VoInventions ; IIRC some similar, subsequent products may interest you :) I really like the VO-96 but the site doesn't even have a way to buy one unless I am just stupidly missing it? Also I dont really see specs on what its totall capacities are. What do you know?

Any word on Moog guitars?
Hey I just discovered the world of Moog guitars and was basically going to buy one immediately for the guitarist in my band only to find out they are no longer in production. Any word on this? Is the whole idea permanently scrapped? What do you guys know? I also really liked the VO-96 but see it is ...

Re: digital and analog pedals
I am probably a minority on this board with the concerns I have within my band. I have read articles breaking down what digital does to a sound and it seems there IS a loss or degradation to a sound that goes through a digital processor. My concern was less with my synths as it is with the violin a...

Re: digital and analog pedals
Especially concerning sound quality vs the two. If by "sound quality" you mean "exact reproduction of the original", it does not depend only on the technology but on the architecture. If you mean "does it sound good", then try and tell us :) Would you prefer to send hi...
