Re: Werkstatt has stopped functioning
Are you using the power supply that came with the Werkstatt or a different one? I've killed 2 Werkstatt's and found that I was accidentally powering it with 9VDC from my benchtop power supply. Wow, I almost just did this exact same thing. Fortunately, I have enough experience frying circuit...

Re: Werkstatt Mods
Very nice! If I didn't already have my spaghetti mess of a Werkstatt I'd be first in line for a kit. I really like how you cleanly incorporated the MiniCV board. There are a lot of input and output pads. Do all of those connect up to pads on the Werkstatt?

Re: MIDI in?
thanks to arjanhoekstra's idea, I have successfully breadboarded a variable waveshape circuit! You gotta share that circuit! My latest addition was to add a fine tuning circuit copying the one on the Werkstatt Workshop. I drilled a small hole near the power input and glued a trimpot with a small sh...

Re: MIDI in?
For those who have used a MiniCV, are you able to get the lowest 2-3 notes to work OK? With my setup, checking the oscillator CV, it never gets to zero at the low end. As a result, the lowest 2-3 notes are all the same. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my voltage follower after the MiniCV (perha...

Re: Werkstatt has stopped functioning
Check at R17 which is a 4.99k resistor. Just a clarification, this resistor should be 4.99 ohms, at least according to the schematic (and the resistor itself looks to be marked 4R99). With the power supply plugged in, put the ground lead (black) of your meter on a ground test point. Then put the re...

Re: Werkstatt has stopped functioning
Has the Werkstatt been modded?
Do you know the power supply is working? If you have a multimeter, check that it is putting out 12V as expected.

It looks like there is a second edition coming out:

Are you familiar with that version as well?

Re: MIDI in?
Learning that the glide was part of the keyboard and will not work with an external CV was a bummer. If I remember correctly, when I metered the kb output at the glide, it spanned 3v across the octave. Probably with a jack and a 4053 it could work, but it's much easier to just make another glide wi...

Interesting about the MINICV. Thanks for the heads up. Learning that the glide was part of the keyboard and will not work with an external CV was a bummer. Re: MIDI in?
FYI for anyone using the MINICV. I just did this, connecting the gate out of the MINICV directly to the gate out point, just before cap C68 as described here: http://laurentidesynthworks.blogspot.com/2014/07/moog-werkstatt-1-mods.html Note that since I was not using an external gate in, I did not ha...

Re: MIDI in?
The MINICV does not have any hardware. It is just a populated board, so you can use any connector you like.

Re: Werkstatt Mods
Hey, muksys, nice knob "mod"! What part are those knobs? Do they just slip on, or did you need to glue/set screw in place?

That sounds great! What are the specs or Edcor part numbers for the tranformers?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Werkstatt on it's way :)
After playing around with mine this weekend the one thing I think I wanted to add most was a power on/off button/switch. I felt like I was going to fry it every time I just pulled the plug Not sure the size of the plug, but if the same, this could be useful: www.adafruit.com/products/1125 Alternati...
