911 release

On my 911 clones I notice that the Release only functions when Sustain is applied a little to the envelope. I've not looked too deeply into the envelope mechanism of the 911's but wonder if this is normal behaviour for the 911 EG' s ? I notice that the Hold switch on the Minimog works on any setting...

Re: CP3 Mixer Question

Yes, I built them last year and so far there's been no problems until I saw someone taking audio from the minus output, then when I tried it I got nothing , only DC signals went thru. I will take one out tonight and examine it , as I say it's probably a component that's wrong or maybe wrong connecti...

Re: CP3 Mixer Question..

Tom...it's the transistor version ..funny, I've done some tests and found I do get audio signals from the minus output ...but only when the master volume pot is set to roughly half way ...any further either way and the signal disappears ...also it's only about 50% of the positive output. I probably ...

Re: CP3 Mixer Question..

Thanks .......Oh no ! I made four clones a while back and was sure they were spot on...I have to take another look...so I get DC from the minus outputs but no audio ?? I wonder if it's anything to do with the trimmer setting ? As there is no direction for the trimmer setting I've left them all at ha...

CP3 Mixer Question..

I saw someone's patch chart for a modular recently and saw that an audio signal was being sent from the minus output of the CP3 into a 904a....when ever I tried this all I get is a click...no audio. I had always assumed the minus output was for control voltage etc and not audio signals. No matter ho...

Re: 904C Filter Coupler

Totally ! But please don't feed the coupler with sequencer output! ! I would love to hear a simple waveform (s) put thru the 904C with appropriate dial twizzles just to hear (and see) what's coming out...and perhaps with CV input to ththe controllers ? Don't worry about the quality ...so far it will...

Re: 904C Filter Coupler

Thanks for posting this info, it's the best yet to be found anywhere concerning the 904C which I think is one of the most enigmatic modules. Or at least coupled with the 904a/b. The samples are very useful. So I think from what I read, my clone is probably working fine ....it's just learning how to ...

904C Filter Coupler

I posted a similar message a while ago but after completing my 904C clone I'm wanting to determine if its working correctly . It seems a strange module ...sometimes working sometimes not... in either bands. That is it all depends on where the dials are set and what control voltage is in play. A lot ...

Re: Vocoder ...

It's the V256.....

Well thought out and versatile..internal synth via midi or just plug a gritty saw tooth in the instrumental input ....

Variable band settings ...

Good price too..I paid £129..... You certainly get a lot for your money....and the vocoder sounds ace !

Vocoder ...

Well are any of us really going to own a genuine Moog Vocoder ? But this week I got great wee substitute ..anyone looking for a hardware vocoder ? I cannot recommend the Harmonix Vocoder pedal enough... A really well thought out and accomplished pedal...sounds superb and compliments my modular ... N...

Re: Inverted signal

Thanks once again C This input of yours must be the most definitive explanation of phase and inverted signals on the Moog systems That's currently on the web. Whats intuitive on a hands on and ears way makes a little more sense now ...it's good to know the maths as well. Anyhow it's made me a lot mo...

Re: Inverted signal

Many thanks C. And I appreciate the scope images you placed ..thanks for your time. I understand what you described regarding mixing the signals and the various inversions etc. So let's say I have two triangle waves ...I invert one ..then mix together to produce a different timbre ? I think that's w...

Inverted signal

How does inverting a signal effect the sound.. I've read much about inverting signals and phase but I'm not sure just how relavent this is to the actual sound ie if I invert a saw wave should I hear something different to the normal saw wave ? Same thing with phase from the 902's ...I don't really g...
