There hasn't been a brand new Moog synth since 2006 now, so my guess (or hope!) is that a totally new product should be announced for 2009 in that line... Considering that Moog just released the Moog Guitar and Voyager OS and that they're hard at work on the Taurus III, I wouldn't expect anything t...

Now on the Fantom, I really did dial up some sines and some saws and the filter was just simply, lacking. Even the cutoff knob just didn't do it for me. (Spaceballs reference) I love the synth though and I don't really like the joystick thing ROland has going. I really prefer wheels. Not apples and...

Synthesizers.com sells modules and complete modular synths. I've never played one -- the only modular experience I have is a couple of hours on an ARP 2600 many years ago -- but they seem to be very well thought of. Modulars are very interesting and flexible instruments. They typically do not have a...

Oh man, what year was that 4003? That's another bass I really want. Rics are really works of art, aren't they? It was an '83, I think. Nothing vintage. But it sounded pretty amazing and the neck was SO fast. I loved the high-gloss fretboard. I strung it with flatwounds to get that Peter Quaife thum...

Good to see you, Amos. I finally got home and have been showing my Phatty the love and attention in deserves. I wonder, though, how a step-sequencer would work in a two-line display. That would be... err... a challenge. One thing you could do is implement it in the Editor-Librarian SW so you could u...

Well, assuming you go Moog, and of course you will, the options are endless. Some -- but certainly not all -- options might include... Option 1: Moog Minimoog Voyager: $3200.00 USB/Audio Interface: $150 Stand: $30 Cables: $15 Sennheiser HD-280 headphones: $100 TOTAL: $3495 Option 2: Moog Little Phat...

Basically the Fantoms synth engine was absolutely weak in comparison to the Voyager and I found that I needed my plethora of knobs. Apple and oranges. The Voyager's piano patch just doesn't impress me at all. ;) Nice.. slippin' in the Clockwork Orange reference. Wink It seemed appropriate. And I kn...

Hiyas Matt,I shave my dome as well, the way I look at it is God only made a few perfect heads.....the rest have hair  I have a few nasty scars on my head [from, respectively, the recoil of a 40mm Bofors gun, a fight with marines in Seattle, a cycling accident], so it's far from perfect. But I'm...
