Re: Sub 37 Modulation and Hi
How can i Control the Frequency of the OSCs using one of the EGs, mostly the FEG. Doesn't selecting the FEG for the "Mod x Source" in a Mod section, and then using the existing "Pitch Amt" control in that Mod do what you want? When you select something other than a LFO waveform,...

Re: MOOG 15 QUESTIONS
The 921 has a "Coarse Range" switch that switches between the "Sub-Audio" and "Audio" ranges. One or the other, not both at once. (This answers your other posting with the same question, too.) The 921 makes a very flexible LFO, while the 921A and two 921Bs are usually t...

Re: Sub 37 Oscillator 1 / Sub 1 dead?
When the oscillators appear dead, what happens when you "init preset"? That is, press and hold the "Panel" button, to reset the settings to default values, and see if Osc 1 comes back from the dead.

Re: beat frequency not consistent
Here is my experience: the Beat Freq control depends on first getting a beat-free sound across the keyboard. It doesn't override the Tune control, but offsets it a little bit. So, if the sound is already beating, the Beat Freq control won't control that. Steps: - put the Beat Freq control to zero - ...

Re: Sub 37 modulation routing problem, Values changing
when I hold down the Source button on mod 1 or 2, then twist whatever knob I want to set as destination, the twist of the knob changes when holding source changes the value of the parameter when I release the source button. Is this in the editor? Or on the hardware? Do you have the Pot Mode set to ...

Re: Moog Sub 37 Panel Mode
@mikeh11 try doing an innit patch on the panel mode and change the pitch wheel bend ammounts and control ammounts and switch off the synth without going into preset mode and see if that works test1 - init preset (press and hold Panel button) - mod2 control button - changed mod/press/velo control am...

Re: Slim Phatty Polychain & audio question
Disclaimer: I don't have a Slim Phatty, and I should have grabbed the manual and read it before answering, so I'm assuming that the audio input goes to the mixer that feeds the filter in the Slim, and that it does Poly-Chain like some other Moogs. 1) Polychain can work without a Little Phatty, corre...

Re: Moog Sub 37 Panel Mode
The Sub 37 manual on page 14 says: In PANEL mode, the sound you hear reflects the current position of the front-panel knobs and buttons. Parameters in this mode (other than the knobs) are saved in a special buffer, so you can pre-set the panel to retain any non-knob settings you choose. I started wr...

Re: Sub 37 Envelopes not consistent
The sound is consistent with OSC 1 and OSC 2 turned on. The sound is consistent with OSC1 and SUB OSC turned on. As soon as I mix OSC 2 and SUB OSC together the sound becomes inconsistent. Yes. This is most apparent when OSC1 OCTAVE is set to 4' and OSC2 OCTAVE is set to 8' Definitely. Especially w...

Re: SUB 37 Sequencer
Each preset has just one sequence, but each step of that that sequence has settings for two notes. So, the two oscillators can play different notes, but the oscillators will still get mixed together, and go into the one filter and one VCA. So, yes, you can play two notes at once. No, you cannot play...

Maybe double-check that the Equal Tempered scale is selected in the Tuning Scale menu? It's the first thing in the Global edit menu.

Re: Trigger (Cinch-Jones) cables?
The S-trigger plugs are/were a Cinch-Jones connector (now owned by TRW?), part number P-302 (plug, 300-series, 2-conductor). The jack part number is S-302 ("S" for socket). Both part numbers have suffixes that qualify the part further, so be careful when getting your own connectors. (That ...

Re: Which Moog synths support 128-note alternate turnings?
As you mentioned in your original post, yes, the Sub 37 accepts the MIDI Bulk Tuning Dump message - 128 notes with 3-byte tuning each. It also accepts the Single-Octave tuning messages. It's fun to turn the keyboard upside down. Note that the Sub 37 stores 32 single-octave tunings internally. It acc...

Re: Daisy chain
I've bought from All-Electronics and AdaFruit before; they're good places to shop. They both list power supplies that sound like they might work; but the supplies are switchers - will that generate too much noise? Is Moog's supply a linear one? http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/category/914...

Re: Sub 37 sequencer cheat sheet
I know you put a lot of effort into making this, and I think it's really good. I have some comments, though: There's a typo under Change Page: "KB OTAVE". In the MOD SRC table, for the KB Track entry: doesn't middle C have MIDI note 60? I know there's disagreement on whether it is called C...
