holy crap

i dont know what it does exactly, but i tried that patch too... and i thought i blew my MG-1 up. those sounds are unique, but frightening. i have the input filter mod too, so i patch the trig and pitch to the input throught the filter and it made some other crazy sounds... not very playable, but goo...

what kind of WOOD is used on MOOG's?

it may sound crazy, but i'm thinking about building a wooden body/case/frame for my MG-1 instead of those cheap plastic sides. I used to have an OPUS 3, so I understand the construction of it, but what would be the best wood... and stain?

if anyone knows that kind of stuff. thanks!

mg-1

With my Moog/Realistic MG-1, I can get some really cool wooshes, spaceship take-offs/landings, bleeps, creepy horror movie sounds, everything, etc. It's a really good synth for that stuff... as well as creating awesome music. But... I bet most ANY Moog synth would do all that stuff. :)

Actually... sometimes when i have a cold, i can get a 2-note polyphony out of my 'singing voice'.

It's cool. I'm not knocking monophony.

Re: return of the rentals....

I believe The Rentals used only an opus 3 and source (mmmmm the source)....at least on their first album....who cares about their second? The Rentals 2nd album got about 2 listens before i gave up on it, but then for some reason I randomly popped it in my car again one day and gave it another chanc...

Not sure, but...

I heard Gary's Gang today on the radio... there's a lot of MOOG sounding stuff going on in their song "Keep on Dancing"... especially the cool solo. check it out... the song is from 1978, so I'm guessing it's likely a MOOG.

black goo

that black goo is horrible! i had an opus 3 shipped to me and that black stuff was EVERYWHERE when it arrived! It's like Tira Misu mixed with TAR! I've yet to deal with the goo dwelling inside of my MG-1, but next week is doomsday. I'm having a few replacements/mods done: Inputs replaced, sliders re...

MG-1 - noisey

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I too have a MG-1... and love it. Anyone here know how to make my MG-1 quieter? While it's powered up and plugged into in amp(at a reasonably loud volume), i can hear the filter and almost a monotone note humming very lightly. I thought I might just have the master volume k...
