well it turns out that the initial assessment was incorrect. the bubbles WERE the original plastic that had stuck. Chris used a hair dryer to apply heat to it and got it to come off, but underneath was a milky discoloration. He went at that with plastic polish and managed to make it look a LOT bette...

lol i was turnin' that input volume knob like you said, and it DID get better, but I had NO IDEA how futile that effort was. I can't imagine why this thing was neglected like this for so many years.

Also, one thing I learned in looking into MIDI options: the Lintronics MIDI converter is no longer being made, so that's not an option for owners anymore
