Re: Need help to save our Moog
Incidentally the term 5U refers to the size of the modules themselves. It can also be referred to as MU which stands for "Moog Units" as Moog defined the standard back in the day. Actually, the modules were built as a specification to rack units, as in "5 rack units high." "...

I think I read somewhere that the original walnut came from some trees on Bob's property. Probably just a legend...

Yep, it's definitely white noise and cranking the filter resonance.
You should look up the video.

Re: Isao Tomita Patches?
As far as the whistle goes, there's a YouTube video of him patching/playing When You Wish Upon a Star on a System 55. Looks like he used filter oscillation and maybe a 921 LFO for vibrato.
It's a great vid--check it out.

Re: Played the Moog 15 at NAMM
Hi MC: Any news on how the modular reissues are doing overall? Sales numbers? The possibility of building more systems? Reissuing individual modules? And most important for me, access to replacement parts either directly from Moog or their vendors? I've asked these questions and have never received ...

Re: Playing the Moog: Best Way to Learn?
So I recently inherited a Minimoog from my grandfather. The thing sounds great, only problem is, I suck at playing. I don't have any experience with instruments, so that may have something to do with it  Some people have told me to just learn to play the piano/keyboard, and to bring those ski...

Re: For investors primarily?
It's still a start! One can't help but wonder where the other modules went. Maybe there weren't. I wonder if it could have been ordered that way, what with the blank panels. But I think the 960, 61, and 62 weren't available until '69. So perhaps a Frankenstein system? It would be interesting if the...

Re: I Dream of Wires....
Somewhat interesting overall, BUT... Where was Don Buchla? Suzanne Ciani? If they can get Morton S, why not them? Where was Keith E? Dick Hyman? Anyone from Mother Mallard? And on and on... Even Nyle Steiner manufactured modulars. His approach was different enough to at least warrant a mention. And ...

Re: Mike Bucki
There are several threads here that deal with Mr. Bucki's disappearance. The overall consensus seems to be that he's dropped off the planet. Unfortunately, there are several people who are even worse off than you--one guy never got his Taurus pedals back, and I'm sure he's not alone. My guess is tha...

Re: Landmark 50th Anniversary of the Moog Modular
If it's true that only five such systems will be built, and that four of them are already sold at $150K a piece, it can only be good news for Moog Music to add to the income. However, if the project stops after that fifth one gets sold, and nothing else follows, it will have been an exercise in fut...
