Re: Pedal Impedance and "True Bypass"
Well if you could come up with a good reason to turn off a 104Z I've got to hear it!HB3 wrote:And do the guys who run a million effects at a certain point just go, "bleep the bypassed signal, I'm never using it anyway"?

Re: Moog SL-8
A variable harmonic multiplier sounds like a lot of fun, and since its Moog, I doubt thats just a fancy term for a filter!

Re: Moog SL-8
The technical facilities of the DX7 are astounding, and it's a very impressive synth qua synth. But as a musical instrument, it's nothing but a nice preset board since on the fly manipulation is such an awful hassle. "But as an instrument it's nothing but a nice preset board." Wow, what a...

Re: Noise when turning drive knob
Turn the knob fully back and forth for about half a minute. That really should take care of your problem. If it doesnt, you can get some electrical contact cleaner (not the eye stuff) at Radio Shack or somewhere like that. A ccouple sprays on the shaft and then turning it back and forth a couple doz...

Re: CP-252 - my dream Moogerfooger
You could just have 2 slew limiters instead of the basic envelopes -- feed a gate into one and it'll function just like an AR envelope

I'm not sure the difference is in using an IC, but in using one with much more headroom than the old discrete circuit had.latigid on wrote:I think this is spot on, it really shows the difference a) old parts (far tolerance) and b) discrete vs IC designs.

Re: FreqBox calibration/tuning
The other trimpot is for setting the threshold of a gate signal that turns off the output VCA for the VCO when there is no signal so you don't get too much VCO bleedthrough when you're not playing anything into the input. You shouldn't need to mess with it - if you do, you may make the freqbox feel...

Re: FreqBox calibration/tuning
I recently picked up a Freqbox secondhand myself, my first moogerfooger with the old smooth paintjob, but have yet to get a MIDI->CV box or a keyboard with CV outs, so I haven't gotten around to worrying about the tracking yet... However, the input seems cold as ice, which really sucks because the e...

Re: how many Voyager-sounds?
I think the controls have to be digitized for patch storage, run through ADCs to be saved then DACs to send the signals along their various paths.Just Me wrote:(A moog can make and infinite number of sounds because the controls are not digitised.
