Re: Duel of the Jester and the Tyrant
I listened to a studio version of the song (I hadn't heard it in years), and now I know what sound you're talking about. I found this online: http://www.keyboardmag.com/article/duel-moog-jester/July-2008/85849 Although it's a generic description of actual Minimoog settings (for setting up Minimoog s...

Re: Duel of the Jester and the Tyrant
Judging from a video on youtube, he used an ARP Odyssey for the synth parts in that song. Sounds like a standard pulse or pulse+saw patch with portamento. It should be easy to approximate on most synths.

Re: Banco del Mutuo Soccorso Synth
That was probably a bad example, but it was the only one on my computer that was close. If you listen to the first couple of notes in my example, and envision them with a slow attack and played slowly, it might sound closer. I did listen to some of the other clips on youtube (from the same album) an...

Re: Banco del Mutuo Soccorso Synth
That lead sound reminds me of an ARP Odyssey ring modulator patch. Here's an old demo of a ring mod patch that also has an octave effect thing going on (I hope the link works):

If you really want Moog, there is the Satellite(I know..) What's that about? What I meant by that is that the Satellite is sometimes looked down upon. It's only a single oscillator synth, and I don't think it has the ladder filter. It's also not fully programmable like other Moogs, but instead offe...

Well, if you want cheap analog, you can always hunt down a Roland JX3P, Korg Poly 6, Oberheim Matrix 6 (or 1000), or any number of others. If you really want Moog, there is the Satellite(I know..), or MG--1. The Moog Prodigy and Source are both really nice, but the price is about twice of what you'd...

So there's the Opus3...
...but what happened to the Opus 1 and 2? Were they banished from Moogland or something?
