I will always think of Rick Wakeman as my favorite overall keyboardist with Keith Emerson close behind. I can relate to Rick's way of playing and composing more than I can with others. However, there are some others that surely excell in other ways: Chick Corea - No man ALIVE will ever touch this du...

SEQUENCER? SEQUENCER? Are we talking STEP sequencer??? I talked about this to someone at MOOG MUSIC sometime last fall. Whoever I talked to though it was really neat idea... but back drawered it for the time because they were polishing up Little Phatty.

Could it be.... ?

No, this guy is Doug Slocum. His company was Synthetic Sound Labs. I only remember that it was 3 knobs that could be used to control the pitch of the Oscillators now that you've clouded my mind!! I'll have to get Doug to get in here an answer come questions.

Losing the grey matter,

I never thought of that - very cool. The only thing is that on stage you'd have to perform that task every time you need it, or build it into the patch if the routings are available. Shame Moog didn't stick this particular mod right where that big hole is where OSC 1's frequency control would be. Fr...

Of course I must point out that this particular mini was NOT stock - had a bunch of mods on it some done by my friend, some by someone else.

If I can obtain some pictures before it heads off for it's new home, I will.

A bit of MOOG History

I just wanted to tell you all that I was in the presence of MOOG History last weekend - the Model D minimoog that was used to create the sound associated with all of Duracell's commercials (3 notes - 'bing-bong-bing'). The sound is still used to this very day. I needed my friend to diagnose a specia...

I really wasn't very clear on what I was trying to do. I should have mentioned that I'm trying to get the S&H to alter the FILTER one step ("Vacili, give me a ping... one ping only please ...") each and every time you strike a key. New key - new filter (cut-off) position.

While we're on the subject of Sample and hold, does anyone know how I can get the keyboard to trigger the S&H ONCE (one single step) with each new keypress? That effect with multipal triggering is an awsome sound and so much fun to play. I just don't know how to do it on Voyager. Hopefully, I ca...

You know, one of the grossest things I even heard came from my friend who happend to be an MOOG tech and I think HE learned it from David Sancious (Bruce's original keyboard player). He said that the best way to keep your ribbon lubercated was with nose grease. Yep. Nose grease. And a good reason fo...

Modulation Mix - It's "Magic"

I'm the proud owner of a minimoog Voyager. I sold my old Model D some years back to get it because I really needed the reliability since I gig with mine. Anyway, of course my hat's off to MOOG MUSIC with this updated release of the greatest synth of all time. However for some reason, an essential fu...
