Re: Subsequent Noob questions - knob value display/duo mode

First off, a preset vs current value display is the most requested feature by far. Lately, every other post seems to request it. Therefore: MOOG! Are you listening? A How about including this most requested and immensely useful feature in the next (long overdue...) firmware update? With that out of ...

Re: How would you integrate these 3. Sub, DFAM, Minitaur

I'd get the BeatStep Pro (BSP hereafter). It can control all of the DFAM, the Minitaur and the Sub 37 from its three sequencer tracks and its sync facilities. The DFAM could be controlled either by using the BSP sync output or one of the drum trigger outputs connected to CLOCK/ADV to drive the seque...

Re: Sub 37 sound problems

Clicking at the start of sounds can happen with very fast envelope times. This is normal and happens with all synths. Just slightly increasing the attack times can get rid of the clicking. You can also try to use the KB RESET switch to force the oscillators to restart every time you play a note (pre...

Re: Is the SUB37 my best option?

I agree with stiiiiiiive. I'd have liked a Voyager myself (I need patch memories), but the Sub 37 scratched my Moog itch and offers some attractive features of its own. A nice modern Moog that's not trying to be a Minimoog, but with a Moog'ish sound all the same. My cat likes it too, and the two tog...

Re: Sub37 - external in/feedback

The external input jack is normalized so that when nothing is plugged in, you get the internal feedback. If you plug something in the feedback is disconnected.

Re: Presets?

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood. The only new presets I can find after a bit of searching are: what is claimed to be "Subsequent factory exclusive presets", here: https://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=28637 (the editor does not protest on importing this bank, even though no patch...

Re: Presets?

Yes, the presets are compatible. Some will sound a little different if moved between a Sub and a Subsequent though, since the mixer and multidrive has been changed on the latter.

Re: Sub 37 upgrade legit or troll?

Frankly, I find it pretty odd that Moog has not posted this link here on the official forum and hasn't done any comment or official announcement either. Where was that link published and by whom? I found it on Gearslutz, and the poster there had found it on Moog's Facebook page (I don't go anywhere...

Re: Subsequent 37 CV headphone jack not working

It should "just work", there are no hidden parameters. The headphone level is dependent on the main volume though, so it must be turned up for the headphone level to have any effect.

Re: Sub 37 upgrade legit or troll?

Will the upgrade include the keybed though? The text on the sign-up page that describe the upgrade have changed from: "To all Sub 37 owners who would like to upgrade their instruments to the new specifications: we hear you and we are working on it." To: "If you feel that you would pr...

Re: S37 sequence record doesn't respond

Strange. I know it may sound futile, but it's always worth trying INIT SETTINGS in the GLOBAL MENU - it has cleared up many a S37 problem. BTW, KB OCT arrows + NUMBER of presets has no function in the sequencer. However PRESET 1-16 + KB OCTAVE "<" and ">" will set the first and l...

Re: Saving moded preset sounds

Also very useful for this is the COMPARE function. Whenever the COMPARE button is lit, you can freely audition the presets while your edited sound remains safe. Use this to find a suitable preset for saving to, as well as for actually comparing your edited sound with stored sounds as part of your so...

Re: Sub 37-Subsequent 37-Subsequent 37 CV

What store did you get this from? Large stores like Thomann or Guitar Center are sometimes able to order a batch of custom models build to their specs. Or large stores are already stocking a model not yet announced and sent out the wrong box. It's not mine. Click the image for more pictures and to ...
