Re: Werkstatt Mods

Hey, muksys, nice knob "mod"! What part are those knobs? Do they just slip on, or did you need to glue/set screw in place? They're Rogan knobs made specifically for older Make Noise modules that have the same type of pots as the Werkstatt (knurled shafts). I got them from ctrl-mod.com but...

Re: Is the Werkstatt more than a toy?

Thanks for the heads up! I didn't have any problem with that one sticking when it was down. I can imagine it's a pain though. Especially since the pots aren't attached to the chassis. If something like that happens and you have a little space underneath the knob, use a shoe string to pull it off. J...

Re: Is the Werkstatt more than a toy?

Love the wood ends!! I ordered those same knobs from smallbear. They do look tits, but when they're next to each other (especially the cutoff and res), it's a bit cumbersome to tweak. Also, if you push those knobs down they WILL NOT come off!! I had to use a pair of pliers to get them off. It ended ...

Re: MIDI in?

I just ordered 3 of these for some werkstatt's I'm modding. I have it's bigger brother (midimplant) and it's ridiculously small! It should mount perfectly to the kludge area on the PCB. As it's just the PCB you can wire it to any jack you like. If you plan to mount a standard sized MIDI IN jack, the...

Re: Werkstatt Mods

Always seemed a bit odd they didn't offer a Gate In on the patch header. A little bird told me (although it's usually not standard practice to send a control signal to a control signal output) that you can send a trigger to the GATE OUT and it will work as a GATE IN. yeah, looking at the schem, tha...

Re: Werkstatt Mods

The follower isn't necessary. Just a cationary addition really. I'm working on a PCB with SMD parts that'll solder right to the kludge area, so adding one is no biggy. Hopefully (before Knobcon) I'll get it done and have some needed mixing options (VCO > Filter, Audio IN, which will double as an Ove...

Re: Werkstatt Mods

@peff, I borrowed your Gate IN voltage follower idea. If anyone's interested, I drew up a schematic of what to do to get an external Gate IN. It's fairly simple, but you will need to cut a trace for it to work properly.

Re: Fixing a broken noise generator Moog Rogue.

It's a POS noise generator anyway. You can hear it repeat every second or so. I rarely if ever use it. You'd be better sending noise from an outside source into the Audio IN. FYI, I may have a spare slider laying around somewhere. If you so need one let me know and I'll check if its the right value.

FYI, everyone can settle a bit now. Moog just posted a pic on Instagram of a box o letters with said knob for shipment.

Re: Free gift from Moog?

that is odd. It took about a yearish, but I received a letter with about 3 stickers in it some bit ago. Plus another one filled with some more stickers from Demon Dan. If it comes, it comes. If it doesn't, it doesn't. I bought my VOS for the synth it contains, not the knob. Personally, I think it's ...

Re: Moog Prodigy keyboard tracking issue

Be aware that the original rev Prodigy's had very unstable oscillators. This was corrected with later revs. There is a step by step instruction on how to make the appropriate changes around the internets. I'm a fairly skilled electronics tech, but I took it to the pro's to have mine modded. It's not...

Oh cool, that's what was used to create the score to Tarkovsky's "Solaris". That thing is huge! Thanks for the links.

Re: SP Mod Destination affects overall pitch

Maybe the Modwheel does not get down to zero. Did you checked the mod wheel value sent out via MIDI? Checked via midiox and it does go to zero. Whats interesting is the change in pitch is constant. It's not effected by the LFO waveshape or rate. The pitch literally jumps 1 - 2 cents only when pitch...

Re: SLOP

S+H is basically a random LFO yeah? Sorta. It's usually part of the LFO on a synth. It's actually taking an input source (typically white noise) and scans the voltage, then "randomly" holds onto that voltage for the duration of the rate (or every gate). Sorry, I put my nerdcap on there :P
