If all else fails, you could buy new knobs from Dotcom. AFAIK, they buy from Cosmo, the original supplier, so they are as stock as possible. I bought a few pointer knobs from them a while back--they were about $4 each.
I've also done business with CAE, and my experience was also positive.

Re: synth on "all my love" Zeppelin?
Incidentally the solo parts on Wendy Carlos' performance of the Fifth Brandenberg are an Electone E-5, which did things the Moog Modular wasn't at that time capable of. Can you confirm that? There's a story on the net of a guy who bought a very cheap GX-1 from an organ teacher who'd acquired it aft...

Re: Just watched Fedex drop a Moog 55
Where do I start with these clowns? Couple of years ago, I rented audio gear from L.A. Saturday delivery for a project starting on Sunday. Waited all day Saturday at home with my cell phone, just in case. Never showed. Finally called FedEx Customer Service  . Said the driver couldn't find the ...

Saw this yesterday...
There were several "bids", and the high bid was around $6K. And with a BIN of $1500.00??
Steer clear of this one.

Hmmm...wonder if the 2-position model would be a fit for the older modulars:

Pro Tools LE8 (soon to be 9) with a 002 Rack. I just use the generic Digi plugins. An 8-channel control surface would be nice for mixdowns, but I really don't need one yet.

Ref tript and his picture / expectations, there is a company called Moog inc who are indeed involved in aerospace technology....so your idea is not actually as far-fetched as you might think. I stumbled on their web-site some years ago when looking for Moog Music - I just checked & they...

If I understand you, you'd like to recreate the original factory patches?
I'm assuming you don't have the user manual. It's available online in numerous places, and it shows the factory patches as well as other settings. That's probably the best place to start.

Re: What inspired your interest in Moog?
When I first heard Lucky Man and Switched-On Bach --I'm sure lots of folks here have a similar experience. :) About a year later I was fortunate enough to play around in Vladimir Ussachevsky's lab a time or two. The big Buchla, lots of Moog modules, tape machines, etc. Three years later I was workin...

Re: System 15 for sale
Just had a look at a very clean IIIc on the VEMIA site. Latest bid is £15,000--about $25K.
Hmmm, a 15 for $35K, a IIIc for $10K less...what to do, what to do...

Re: System 15 for sale
On the other hand, $35,000 now is more affordable to me than the brand new price was back in '74... Here's a little perspective: According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, $3495.00USD (list price for a Sys 15 in 1974) adjusted for inflation in today's dollars would sell for $15,842. So where does...
